PC must have thought MTL BOS rivalry was getting a little less interesting

I bet PC had one or two skaters he really liked and if he wasn't sure the others would pan out why not get a great net minder

Not only that, but when will this kid be ready to play? 7 years from now?

I only saw him play one game, the U18's in 2011, and he let in one horrific goal. IIRC it was the game winner against the US, but I could be very wrong

As a habs fan I love this pick. This rivalry doesn't have an end in sight.

Yeah, not a fan at all, but this is kind of a "whatever" draft.

Here's Kyle Woodlief of RLR for Puck Daddy: "I had Malcolm Subban going to New Jersey at No. 29, but he's not in our top 60.
We don't like him. He's got a terrible, terrible glove hand. As athletic and acrobatic as he is, there are a lot of holes in his game. He over-commits on every play, he's terrible handling the puck behind his net and confuses his defensemen.
But I think he'll get picked in the first round."

(at the same time, this sounds a little like Tim Thomas, not that they play the same style at all)

... Respect. Seriously, that is damn awesome. Even as a Hab fan. I just got finished thinking, "I wonder if Boston trolls Montreal."

I told you so.

Knew they wanted him. Now watch what Essensa does with him.

Elated with this pick.

I think this will be awesome, just for the story line

I would have rather had a position player but oh well.

Welcome Malcolm...

I don't like goalies in the first round either. Hopefully this turns out well. ETA on this guy is probably around 4 or 5 years anyways.

Could this mean that the Rask contract talks are at a stalemate?

Wow. Im stunned. Bruins talk Malcolm Subban from Bellville Bulls. Wow. Wow. Didn't see that coming at all. I'd heard they didn't like him

Interesting aspect of this is that a lot of NHL brothers often end up playing together at some point.

Since P.K. is a couple of years older, he'll be a FA earlier so..............

who knows.

Same.

Not convinced this was the best pick for us at the time....but whatever. Boom or bust.

Probably the same way Malcom feels when the Garden razzes PK. It's a business. They know the deal.
