Yeah but we have a top six D on the Bruins for the next while in Boston not like there is only 4 NHL capable D on our roster

Subban started to play goal at the age of 12.

He was the 2nd highest rated goalie in the draft.

The Bruins first round picks have been a DISASTER( unless picking top 5, and Hamilton last year)

Some 1st round Bruin picks in the past 10 years. 2008 Colborne, 2007 Hamill, 2005 Lashoff, 2002 Toivennen,2001 Morrisonn,2000 Jonsson,2000 Samuelsson.

I really don't know what people are upset about.. If they took him over Olli Maatta ok I could see it.. but does Matt Finn or Brady Skeji really excite you much? It doesn't me I know they are solid players but lower ceiling definitely

he keeps googling "is it illegal to not go to the white house when you're invited".

the results are always the same.

FWIW, he was brilliant in the playoffs before this past year.

While a small sample size, Malcolm has improved leaps and bounds in a very short time and that's why his potential is considered sky high.

As a Habs fan and Bulls fan, it is weird but congrats to him. Just another dimension to the rivalry

agreed the thomas situation likely had nothing to do with this pick... if subban becomes a starter he is going to be a much better player then the level of dmen/forwards available at this point. and even if he doesnt become our starter... we see that the trade value for kid goalies is starting to go through the roof these days.

subban is odds on favorite to be the starting goalie for canada at the wjc this year... a strong showing there will increase his value alot. we will know how rask/khubodin do by this time next year too.

personally, i dont mind if we sit on this guy to finish his junior career then do a year or two in ahl cause his entry level contract doesnt start till hes in the show. having him around here from age 24-25 to age 30 or whatever as an affordable starter would be sweet if rask has really become something special by then and priced himself off the team. or maybe rask gets hurt... you never know.

in any case, thomas wasnt going to be a factor by the time subban is going to be a useful nhl player anyhow so whether thomas walked out on us or not doesnt really matter

I would of loved to see Kirk's face when Boston announced this pick.

I"ll be doing my best to watch a few more Belleville games next year or where ever he plays.

They passed on ****ing Finn, Thrower, Skjei, and Schmaltz for a questionable goalie? You don't draft a goalie for 5 years from now because you just lost one from the NHL roster. I hate drafting goalies in the first round.

Haggs on NESN now,

Says Bruins really played Subban down. Too much of a project.
Then after the pick Chia said to him " how's that for a story Joe"

They had everybody fooled. Everybody. And they knew it.
