Record 13 defensemen taken in the first round. 8 in a row, too.

Idiot. As a lifelong East Sider - born and raised a few blocks from "America's Coach," Herb Brooks' childhood home and neighborhood - there are a few things I will not tolerate. Besmirching St. Paul is not one I take lightly.

I was keeping track of the draft at work. I was surprised the Wild were able to pick Dumba because I thought he would go sooner. I like the pick and I'll trust GMCF's judgement on the kid. I was also rooting for GMCF to move up and take TT later, but the price was probably too high.

It's also nice to see a UND recruit get taken in the first round, but that's nothing new.

In the words of Barney Stintson, "do they even teach geography in Canada?"

Just a cap space deal, I bet. They really are making a run for somebody. I'm going with Pitt made the statement deals tonight.

Just poking fun at you, you silly Goofer fans

I mean, I can't make fun of you too much. At least a Gopher went before a Sioux this year. Oh, wait...

And I have to imagine that at Jordan's wedding party stuff tonight, all the Staals are partying it up and making fun of Marc quite a bit. "Ha ha, you have to deal with Tortorella! We have a monopoly on Raleigh! We decide what we do, **** those guys! Sucks to suck Marc!"

Pitt freed up 8M in cap space today. Uh-oh. They gave away Michalek for the space. If they give Martin away, they are in the hunt for Parise and Suter.

so since staal was getting married today and the deal went down, wouldn't it be funny if during the vows when asked if he accepts he gets wind of the trade and starts screaming "no no no dammit no"

Also i am shocked they took Pouliot, their D was fine and i though a guy like Forsberg to play with crosby would just be filthy.

C'mon, did you watch the interview? He walked it back to St. Paul less than two seconds later. He's 18 and grew up in a different country, don't be a hater.
