They cleared $8M in cap space and are almost up to $15M under the temporary cap. They're clearly going after Parise.

so they're going to have 3 forwards making 7+? Crosby's new contract will carry a cap hit of 9 million. They are not going after Parise. If they're going after someone it's Suter

Homer had no desire to trae Richards or Carter a year ago.

Michalek, OEL, Gormley, Morris, Klesla, Yandle stacked D.

Meh they lost one of the best defense forwards and an above average defender. I don't see how having Suter makes them a juggernaut. Now, if they got Suter AND Parise. Then we talk jugs.

Ok, thinking about this now. If the Pens don't sign a D-man, even if they get Parise, they are WORSE than last year. Prove me wrong.

Well, Suter's agent could just be saying that so the perceived market for him is larger. I guess if he signs for an Eastern team, we know he (agent) wasn't just saying that.

unless schenn is getting moved, this pick is useless, defense is major need, i wish homer would just stop being a ***** and just traded up to get the ducks sixth pick for a defensive player, get buddy ryan problem solved, but he's trying to **** this team up for the worse

how is he not seeing that this team needs defense, im thinking homer is losing it and way over his head, he deserves to be booed and if this team doesnt make the playoffs in two straight years, he's still the gm i seriously doubt, boo the crap out of him, leighton as a backup? good lord, this is your loser strategy? apparently it is since defense is not fixed and offense not upgraded, this is a loser's mentality for a gm.

he's a ****ing idiot

So, I'm very critical of Holmgren and the organization. With that disclaimer out of the way, let me be the first to say you are entirely off base and dead wrong.

Add Bystrom and Thrower to that list. Unforantely, knowing Homer were going to get another forward.

I second that emotion.

Homer's done some stupid things, but last year worked out alright and he really needs to focus on things like resigning Voracek. We'll be a contender. Other than that all he needs to do is focus on finding a fair price for a D-man who can come in and play big minutes.

The rest is up to Bryz playing like Bryz should.

I like the player we got, it just seems we could have traded down to get him.
