Dumba - Brodin
Scandella - Gilbert
Falk - Spurgeon

Dumba was playing 35 minutes a night with Red Deer.

Also, here were his top 10 placements in the combine: avg power output, VO2 max, hand-eye coordination, standing long jump, vertical, mat jump height, and pushups.

He's an outstanding athlete and has the skills, attitude, and work ethic. Just needs the coaching.

Good to see people didn't put the Wild as loser.

Yeah, they loved our pick and the fit with our team. What I took away is that dumba has a lot of character to go with his shot and hits.

Little disappointed with how much people are complaining about the pick. It could be a LOT worse.

Welcome to Minnesota. I'm very satisfied with the pick and I think he has some of the best potential of all the defensive rookies.

A lot of folks were complaining.

I don't even want to know about the response to last year's pick...luckily I was in the building for that one.

Complaining about the action taken with the pick, not about the person picked.

Dumba is going to get your building loud. it will be a good idea to have some fighters in the lineup when Dumba lights someone up and starts a war.

People wishing that trading up or down was as simple as saying they want to do so... except in reality, you need a trading partner... go figure.

The Minnesota Wild are proud to announce a 7 year contract extension with... Matt Kassian!

Dumba reminds me a lot of Brent Burns... only in a smaller package.

Yeah, I really figured our only option would've been Washington, but even they passed on Grigs.

I'm disappointed in the pick because I felt we needed to address our complete lack of scoring more than we needed to address the blueline. I also wish we would have traded down, but that route was apparently lacking either the desire from GMCF, or a trading partner to make it happen.

I do not dislike Dumba. He looks like a very good defenseman and I am sure he will be a great addition to our blueline when he gets here. I like his physical play, and I like that he seems like he has a scoring touch. Our blueline really lacked that. Hopefully he becomes a great PP QB as well.

Avder, this pick wasn't going to fix anything for the Wild right now no matter how you look at it. This pick was NOT going to fix a lack of scoring. The pick was always 2-3 years away from having an impact with the Wild... so it all but HAD to be a defenseman.

Doubt Grigorenko comes back to haunt us. We'll see about Forsberg and Teravainen.

That said, I am so ****ing happy about the pick.

EDIT: Also, this thread is reading like last year's Brodin thread. A bit premature.

Immediate team needs are better filled through free agency then the draft. Outside of Yakopov, there weren't any scoring forwards ready to step into the NHL anytime soon.

I think the vibe was much more negative with the Brodin pick last year....I think the general feeling among the majority of Wild fans that Dumba was a solid selection.
