We have Z for the next 3 years at a cap hit at 4 million. I bet Z had 2nd thoughts about being in Pittsburgh after seeing the Coyotes went to the WCF and he never made it past the 1st round in Pittsburgh.

It was a real kick in the crotch losing him in the first place. We have being trying ever since to replace him and to pick him up tonight for scraps? A great night to be a Coyote fan!

With Klesla and Z on the blueline next year Smitty may not face a shot all season.

...and I was speculating a Sutter, Michalek, + for Yandle
and of course Maloney does a better job at GMing than any of us...

Welcome home Z

now maybe we should start up the Michalek reunion again...

With Z's contract, there is no way we can resign Rozy or Aucoin, which is a good thing. Now Z can be the right-handed backstop with OEL.

Can you imagine Z's joy to know that he doesn't have to cover Jovo's ass, but he gets to be paired with OEL, and he get's to come back to the desert...what a deal!

OEL/Z
Yandle/Demo
Klesla/Rundblad
Schlemko/Stone/Summers

Aucoin might resign for less if he feels he can win a cup with us.

With Z coming back I'm more than sure Rundblad may actually make the team. We can now pair him with Klesla, who is just a beast on defense.

Wow. It's like the old days, Samuelsson, Michalek...

I just hope Z is ok with this. I know he had some things to say when he left but, would be cool if he was all in on this deal. Z would be the perfect partner for Klesla.

Unbelievable.

Congrats on making Shero look intensely bad. Michalek I am sure will go right back to looking great in Tippett's system.
I could not have imagined such a lousy return.

Decent pick up at that price but Z definitely hasn't looked the same since his injury. I assume Rozi and Aucoin are not coming back and I'd think we have to move two or three of Schlemko, Summers, Stone and Gonch at this point.
Don't forget Z is also coming back for 6 million in the overall deal less than what GMDM offered him before. Of

Dead wrong. He really, really wanted to be here. He left for certainty tbat we couldnt provide and a shot at the cup with the then toast of the league. Never held it against him. Welcome him bqck with open arms. I was so jealous of scuderi in the kings series. Now weve got our own scuderi back.

This. So glad that the prodigal son has returned. This team has missed him so much since his departure. His reasons for leaving were perfectly logical and under the same circumstances many of us would have made the exact same choice. Imagine the shot blocking clinic next season is going to be.

I wonder if these salary dumps by Pittsburgh means they are going after both Parise and/or Nash? That organization must feel embarassed to lose to the Flyers in the 1st round last season.

Sweet. Great to have #4 back. Any injury problems can be cured by the same docs that keep the Suns Steve Nash and Grant Hill playing.

I figured this, why wouldn't they? Doesn't hurt to try. Either way, awesome to see GMDM working until the last minute

Think your mistaking Z for one of our self entitled forward babies instead. Z and the way he plays is the epitome of what Coyote hockey is all about. I'm thrilled to have him back and I'm through the roof that we were able to get him for that price. I'm sure there are many Coyote players that feel the same.

Welcome back Z! One of my favorite Yotes of all time.

It's a fair trade. We are doing Pittsburgh a favor by taking $4m of cap hit off their books and we acquire a player who thrives in our system (hopefully he's far more effective with us than he was this past year).

Congrats on getting Z back. He hasn't lost whatever talent he had when he played for you guys. Bylsma just couldn't figure out the right way to use him in his system. Tippett knows how to. Z should be the same old great fit for you. Steal for you value-wise. My only guess is Shero is doing this to clear cap room to make a big run at Parise or Suter or he's just lost his mind...
