Best thing I heard tonight was the NBC guys saying he weighs significantly more than the 172/175 he gets listed at.

And, somehow, he grew an inch and is 6' now too in most of the reporting.

Dayumn, late growth spurth in all directions!

I think I'd have had a hard time passing up Forsberg. I think I'd have been very tempted to trade back a couple spots and go for Trouba or Ceci and a 2nd. . . and maybe Chuck was, but we saw the video. . .the phone wasn't ringing. And why would it? The guys a few spots below were grinning their rears offs at how things fell out.

I would like to know where Dumba was on their board. Most mock drafts I saw had him going at #4 or #6.

I don't think ANYONE has a problem with anyone's weight... it's just with their weight, are they ready for the NHL right now or do they need to put on a few pounds first.

It's possible, but I'm a freak.

And I still think Burkie was trying to steal our 2nd, thinking we really wanted Rielly.

Yea, I'm just further clarifying we're on the same page.

According to Russo... the Wild had no interest in trading down anyway once they were faced witht he prospect of picking Dumba. Sounds like they thought he would go sooner and were more than pleased that he fell to them.

Does anyone know what Dumba's wingspan is?

Burke claims to have had Rielly ranked 1st overall on his board. That would jive with comments he had made to TSN prior in the week.

I'm 6'0" and around 215 and in decent shape. I would consider someone who is 184 at that height to be a just a little on the scrawny side.

He's still got some growing and muscle building to do so I'm not terribly concerned with it, but he should be up to around 200 lbs IMO. Everyone is built differently though.

Oh, and at 17, I was 180lbs (very little body fat).

At 22? I was 135lbs.

He'll have to work on his defensive side of the game, but he'll make a great pairing with Brodin. Can he make the NHL roster this year? I don't think he has much of a shot, but he sure seems determined to try.

Ive been to the Phillipines many times, I would disagree that they're solid. jmo

But his dad looked solid, and with all the hormones in todays food its not abnormal for him to tower over his parents.

He'll be at least 195 when he turns pro I'd think.

His dad is Romanian, and they DO tend to be solid.

I Wouldn't be surprised to see the Wild give him an extended look... to help progress his game, but still end up back in Juniors. I just don't think he's physically ready to play his style of game for a full NHL season as of yet. Maybe next year.

Yep.

I think Fletcher and Burkie were talking and maybe Fletcher called Burke's bluff.

"Hey Burke, I want Rielly, so I can send him to Boston next year."

"Washington's 2nd."

"How about Almond?"

"Didn't he go over to Europe?"

"Damn. You got me. How about Hoivonen..."

"He's not on your team."

"Thought I could sneak that one by you. I want Rielly, I got a good deal with Boston...but man you're driving a hard bargain."

"We're taking Rielly."

"Fine. Take him."

GMCF to BF: "Hah! We got Burke to take Rielly. He didn't know we wanted Dumba!"

I really like this pick for many reasons.

But like mentioned above, a team can never have to many leaders! And alot of GMCF's prospects are of the leader variety!

Yeah, I don't want to rush a kid that's still 17. That's crazy to think. You don't rush a kid that can be a game-changer. The thing I keep reading about him is "dynamic." That's what we needed. Rielly or Reinhart would have looked good too, but I think I wanted Dumba all along. It just seems like a great fit with Brodin. If those two can develop, we could have a monster top pairing for a long time.

Everyone is talking about it, as it's relavent to WHEN he will be NHL ready. I think his game is pretty close, just needs a bit more bulk before he can make that jump is all.

Oh god, go on to the Ducks board and see their reactions when they drafted Lindholm. It's freakin' hilarious.
