how is he not seeing that this team needs defense, im thinking homer is losing it and way over his head, he deserves to be booed and if this team doesnt make the playoffs in two straight years, he's still the gm i seriously doubt, boo the crap out of him, leighton as a backup? good lord, this is your loser strategy? apparently it is since defense is not fixed and offense not upgraded, this is a loser's mentality for a gm.

he's a ****ing idiot
Well, like others, I disagree.

I'll say this. I had a long-term concern about Couturier being pigeon-holed as a "shut-center." Kid was once viewed as a potential #1 pick, after all.

Someone like Laughton seems a bit better suited to that role anyway, no?

Giroux, Schenn and Couturier share top-six duties, with one of them at wing. Problem solved. Pick not wasted.

Homer's done some stupid things, but last year worked out alright and he really needs to focus on things like resigning Voracek. We'll be a contender. Other than that all he needs to do is focus on finding a fair price for a D-man who can come in and play big minutes.

The rest is up to Bryz playing like Bryz should.
Yeah. Holmgren has done some questionable stuff, and I have some concerns with a few aspects of the org. But this guy is taking it to an insane extreme.

he's not addressing the defense even if he did in the second round, the flyers wont see him in two years, is their no reason for this season to be alarming? i dont understand how anyone can think this team has cup expectations without an impact defensemen?

Nobody drafted this year by the Flyers would have solved the defense for the coming season. it would have been a long term investment.

While I believe that it's long past time for the Flyers to stop drafting slugs and figure out how to develop defensemen, acting like this season is a lost cause because he didn't draft an 18 year old a couple months before the season is pretty extreme.

Holy crap, I didn't realize the season started this Sunday! Man the off season just flies by anymore, we're screwed! You think there's any chance we won't finish in, like, last place or something? I'm so scare I'm gonna get an even bigger dog.

Very intriguing. Havlet with better defensive awareness? Nice.

With Thrower: http://thehockeywriters.com/dalton-t...spect-profile/

Seriously, I'd got for either, but I'd still want a D man. Thrower, Finn, Bystrom, they are all very intriguing.

Who was probably the best two-way forward taken in the first round?

Suter sounds like he wants to stay in the west, and no one else is worth the number they'll be able to throw around, so, yes, which is why the Flyers have to address the defense today.

They may have passed on them in the 1st round, but they almost have to do something in round 2. From what I've seen/remember, most guys who 'drop' to round 2 quickly get scooped up, so if there is someone they're looking at they need to make a move. If they think no one separates themselves from the bunch, then they will have will still have a few guys to pick from.

It seems dumb that the Flyers didn't draft a defenseman in Round 1, but I think Chris Pryor likes a few of the Phantoms defensemen, more than some of the forwards and they decided there is less NHL potential among the forwards. When Cousins and Noebels join the Phantoms, they'll likely double the NHL potential of the Phantoms.

Impact defensemen for the coming season are not available in the draft.

The alarming thing is that someone actually thinks we could have drafted 24 yr old Lidstrom for next season tonight.
