[QUOTE=RustE;51098685]he wants a team that can give him a spot in the top 2 pairings and PP time. Edmonton might be the only team that can make that offer and be comfortably sure he will improve their dcorp. This is not case with Vancouver, for instance, or the Rangers who already have a damn good back end. He also wants a team that has talent that will allow him to pad his numbers for a second contract jackpot opportunity. Again, Edmonton... check. Monetarily speaking, the Oil are his best fit and, he, allegedly, wants to play in Canada. Much better.
What I think Oiler Lineup for 2012-2013 Season will look like
Hall NUG Yakupov
Hemskey Gagner Eberle
Jones Horcoff Paarjarvi/Hartikienan
Eager *Belanger Petrell
AP: Lander, Paajarvi/Hartikienan, Hamilton, Pitlick
*wish we could trade Belanger for a strong, smart, energy center.
N. Schultz Potter
AP: Klefbom, Teubert, Fedun
In all seriousness, I know the blue line sucks but we just signed both Sutton, and Potter to 1 way deals so I donít see them going anywhere. Which was a stupid decision cause due to the types of players and their positions; we have defensive and offensive minded defensemen paired all the way down. Should have let them go and signed some free agents that fit better, and made room for Justin Schultz. Hereís hoping that Tambo, can trade or acquire some talent so we donít have this set up come October. but i have a feeling we will.....
Dubnyk signís and plays 50-60 games, and Khabinulin finished his contract out as a solid back up and mentor, if injury does occure the Roy is more then ready to make the step to back up.
Taylor Hall - Ryan-Nugent-Hopkins - Jordan Eberle
Ales Hemsky - Sam Gagner - Nail Yakupov
Teemu Hartikainen - Shawn Horcoff - Magnus Paajarvi
Ben Eager - Eric Belanger - Lennart Petrell
Ladislav Smid - Jeff Petry
Nick Schultz - Justin Schultz
Ryan Whitney - Andy Sutton
I'll go with this assuming that we don't sign any forwards. This is exactly what I was thinking. I wouldn't be surprised if we signed a checking line winger and one of Hartikainen or MPS stayed down in the AHL for further development.
There was a thread already for this somewhere but that was a bit premature. As I suppose this one is with RFA nad FA still comming. Could not find the other thread so decided to start this one anyway.
LW, Harti: Way out of his depth here but bring exactly what this line desperatly needs. He neerds more time in the minors but don't think he will get it. Make or break time for Harti.
Center, Nuge: Hope he takes a step forward.
RW, Eberle: Needs to take a step or to being a true #1 RW both ends of the ice.
LW, Hall: Continue to dominate. Recover from injuries and stay healthy.
Center, Gagner: Needs to take a strong step forward which everyone in the organization is expecting.
RW, Hemsky: Still think this guy is #1 RW material myself. Get healthy and get back to what he is good at.
LW, Magnus: Needs to return to form. Gian confidence. Same boat as Harti. But. Playing on a line with Horcoff and Nail will finaly give him a supporting cast to suceed.
Center, Horcoff: Think he will thrive in a mentor role again and will be much better served in a reduced role.
RW, Nail: Perfect line to suceed in the NHL. Provide scoring to the third line.
LW, Eager: Great 4th line winger. Could get moved up the line up based on production.
Center, Belanger: Great 4th liner if he can accpet that. Should be moved up the line up based on production.
RW, Jones: Great 4th liner if he can accept that. Should move up the line up based on production.
I really like these line up combos. But. For this team to suceed we need alot of players to pick up thier socks and play to thier potential. Petrell will be inserted anywhere in the line up to fill in injuries or to give MP/Harti more time in the minors.
