I don't even really see the point of even having "division champs" banners at all. Back in the day of divisional playoffs it sorta meant something, but since the realignment and playoff format changes, those banners seem silly to me.

Yup.

Probably make it down to the home opener again this year and stay for the Rangers game too.

Might head to Washington too, but the last time I saw the Devils play Washington was the 7-1 or 8-1 game last year. I forget what it was. Awful.

Keep me posted on any possible group trips CJ because I'll be interested going away somewhere.
I'll definitely keep you posted. Tony and I might be up there for the Buffalo game in April. Then head to Toronto for the Rangers/Leafs game on the 6th.

I was always a fan of Steve even though I preferred Doc because Steve was like that little kid in the youtube video doing the Herb Brooks impersonation from Miracle - emulating his hero Doc. He's an obvious fan of the team, fan of Doc and gets a genuine smile that you can't fake on camera.

Like others have pointed out already, his critical flaw is giving too much respect to Chico and letting him go on stumbling about nothing too often. The game is hard enough to follow and call as-is and managing Chico's antics only makes it harder. He needs to work on that.

But don't ever lose the "Shot! Scaaaaaar." I love it. It's like Panger's "Holy jumpin'!" a signature call.

It's their first banner in 18 years, it's really special for them.

True. For us it's old hat, because we put one up every couple years on average.

i was hoping the schedule would start panthers, flyers, rangers, and kings. that way we get our playoff competition to start the season. that would be intense.

BTW, just a little random but at the end of the vid where it shows other vids to watch, I found this :

Starting on the road against the Caps is difficult enough.

But we have a friggin' home opener against the team that had our lunch last season as well?

Best-case scenario would be 1-1 to start the season. The Devils have YET to prove they can beat Boston.

Relax, it will be a new season with different players on both teams.

That big fight with the Rangers in the video posted wasn't that like the first time the Rangers beat us in like 4 years?

Also the 2001/2002 opener against the Capitals was real bad. Think we lost like 6-1 or something. It was horrible. Don't even remind me of the 10/11 game. It was our second game of the season.

I want to say this game wasn't on TV and Andreas Salamonsson scored the only goal.

Let's see how right I am.

EDIT: It was another ridiculous last name - Josef Boumedienne. Never wouldve guessed that.

Does anyone have a copy of the original 82 game schedule for the Devils for 2012-2013? Thanks!

I just remember the first two games were against Washington, and Boston. Washington game was on the road, and Boston game at home.

For some reason I'm thinking we may have been supposed to end the season against the Rangers also in the original schedule, but I could be wrong.

Nope it was the Islanders we were supposed to close against in the originally schedule.
