So when on earth are they going to announce the draft party already? I already made plans to go to Mets-Yankees Friday, forgetting about a 'possible' draft party that day since one hasn't been announced yet

I could always sell the ticket since I'm only going myself anyway, but I'd probably be taking a slight loss, oh well.

Sure. I can't see the turnover being too bad. Especially if the actual trials aren't on ice level which I don't think they are.

They could always have one outside again if they had to, the way they did when Reggaeton invaded the Rock last year lol. At least this time it's supposed to be nice out, last year it seemed like it was going to rain but I stayed home. It only misted.

Either way they gotta have an equipment sale at some point, god forbid the people who buy fifty sticks each time don't get their yearly supply.

Well no but I'm sure they put seats at ice level to accomodate the gillions of people that try out for Idol. Probably do have to have it set up beforehand since auditions tend to start real early in the morning, doubt they want to pull an all-nighter to set everything up.

It doesn't take as long as you would think

These guys can turn a hockey rink into a basketball court (or vice versa) in the space of an afternoon if necessary.

I think they can turn a draft party (basically empty arena) into one for auditions.

and **** american idol. ****ing stupid show.

Honestly they probably wouldn't even care about having to do any sort of conversion at night. Its really just standard practice for any facility. Happens all the time with concerts (be it the day after the game, or a game the day after a concert). If anything, this kind of thing would be easier. Only real time consuming aspect would be any stage construction, yet it is probably still way less elaborate than your average concert stage anyway.

Well the Idol auditions are actually Thursday through Saturday, and they usually take most of the day every day. What lousy timing to have Idol auditions

http://www.americanidol.com/auditions/season_12/newark/

And the Devils' twitter indicated an equipment sale at an unspecified date in the summer. Oh well, looks like no draft party. At least I can go to Mets-Yankees Friday now.

Didn't really get a chance to check out the progress on the new Marriott hotel since they started the construction, but I was down there the other day and drove by and the exterior is pretty much finished, looks great

STH getting something special for Draft next year? I mean it is a perk by the way and the people that picked it this year kind of got shafted. lol

That is why I asked because I am looking forward to see what DSA will be doing with it in regards to STH who pick the perk.

This is what they sent me yesterday:

We are aware that you chose the Draft Party as one of your Season Ticket Holder events. For several different reasons, we want to let you know that we will not be hosting a Draft Party. With the release of the schedule, we are working to finalize plans for all 2012-13 season events and will find a suitable solution for you, since you missed the Draft Party. Please be assured that we will be sending out more information to you in the near future.

I could have sworn you just got VIP access to the equipment sale, there's going to be an equipment sale - it just won't be the day of the draft. I don't see how anyone got shafted, unless they wind up scheduling the sale for the middle of a workday three days in advance the way they did the team awards.

It was basically just to announce the schedule and offer a discount on some upcoming shows including the NBA draft

If I remember right there was a bit more to it. Didn't they have a room inside the Rock for just STH with snacks and drinks while watching the draft? Its odd that we got the email the day of the draft though. lol

Edit: Going on draft day works for me because chances are I can't go later in the summer.

Well its going to happen so its like selling season tickets before the season starts. Although, I am willing to give up that perk this year if they add a little more for next years draft.

If you were going to write a legitimate, well-thought letter/e-mail to the Devils discussing why you think the players should be allowed to have Twitter accounts, who would you send it to?

PR but good luck. You'd have an easier time asking for 3rd jerseys lol
