I see picks like this and think the oilers own the kings, they like to fill the building, they like having drafted players on the kings. Just a stupid pick.

I trust Stu, hopefully he has a offensive break out like Lucic did in his post draft year. Being on the Oil Kings gives him a developmental advantage, the Oilers can make sure he gets the minutes to maximize his development.

What a waste god they could not package this pick for a dman. Moroz will not be a nhl regular minor league call up for Injury.s 3rd liner ahl player gross pick at 32.

I think after losing out on Henrik Samuellson (spelling?) they wanted to ensure they got Moroz. Too early I agree, but I still like the player.

Brutal. If he can turn into a 30-40 point checking line winger it's justified... but man... I think we could've done a lot better.

i remember so many saying musil was a bad pick seems to be doing quite well, maybe stu knows a thing or two plus they get to groom him more

In Stu we trust or With Stu we bust?

Which is it?

I'm fine with Moroz, as I trust Stu.

I'm no scout but watching the oil kings playoffs he was a complete non factor. I have a hard time even recalling the guy play.

6'2", 208lbs, good hands, and grit.

Central had him at 72 - but given this draft, I'm not shocked to see him go early. I think CGY would have taken him with 42.

It appears that they had him in their top 30, which makes me wonder why he didn't get the Gernat treatment.

He's a player I figured we would pick but not here I was thinking in the 3rd or 4th round. In all the Oil Kings game I watched I can't say I was very impressed with him, feels like a wasted pick.

Should've probably traded down to take him. Sigh.

Yeah, we missed out on one oil king so we better reach a round to two rounds early to get another oil king, be damned who the hell else was on the board. Cam Abney pick except a full round earlier. Just friggin brutal.

I'll love to hear the oil brass tell me he was bpa.

Mark my words this will be a really good pick! I know the Moroz family and they are fantastic people. Also there is no way he would have made it to the 3rd round. Lots of scouts interested as he got goals with limited ice time on the 4th line this year!

If I remember correctly, Musil was always in the conversation as a 1st round pick, especially early in the year. Moroz... well...

This picks really reeks of the Edmonton nepotism bug. Pick your own, pick what you know, hire MacT, etc...

Terrible at 32 with talent on the board.

I trust Stu but I would have rather got him with our 3rd. Why pick a guy projected to be a 3rd-4th round pick with an early first when you can pick up guys who were left out of the first? With Collberg and Finn Montreal and Toronto are laughing.

Now I know I hate this pick: Matheson from Edmonton Journal likes it.

That sucks... I actually made a joke about them taking him yesterday once Henrik got picked...

I was one of the few who was pleased with the Musil pick last year... but this pick is terrible, no doubt about it.
