Seeing I live in England, I don't follow the minor leagues or college teams etc that much and I was wondering, seeing as we keep selecting kids from US high-schools, how competetive are they? Are they at a CHL level? Do most kids from these teams go on to college hockey?
Also, what about their chances of hitting the big league? Statistically, do they have the same chance as guys drafted from the major-juniors?
Rangers probably did not have anyone ranked within the vicinity of their pick, so they moved back and got a 3rd next year. I like it. No reason to reach for a pick and take a guy they don't particularly like. One or two guys they liked a lot probably went earlier in round 3, most likely Mac Squared and Calnan.
