zharkov has played in na for the last 2 years. maybe something happened during interviews that is keeping teams away?

if garth gets him in the 4th, this will have been a great draft

Gemel Smith is a smalish, but tenacious and hard checking speedster, who I would like to see drafted by Isles

Missed that part. That would be nice value in the fourth.

OT - Seem's like Klatt is doing most of the work at the draft table, it seems like Garth keeps looking down at his watch, he probably has a 2 o'clock tee time.
That's because like last year, the draft is Klatt's show. The GM merely makes the announcement, while the director of scouting decides each team's draft order. Snow gets the glory (and too often here, all the heat).

I would say Klatt knows what he's doing here, and deserves praise- hope people can get over Jankowski now...we're in great hands with Trent.

Love this D strategy here...

Arthur Staple ‏@StapeNewsday
#NYR trade 3rd-round pick, No. 89, to NSH for a 2013 3rd-round pick

Unless you can win with five forwards on the ice, they'd better start turning some of that into D.

NHL needs to take a cue from NFL in terms of drafting...

Even in rounds 2-onward when they're interviewing a recently picked kid, or in a commercial, or whatever, there's this unmistakeable "do-do-do-do-dododo-do-do" little tune and they tell you who was just picked so if you're barely paying attention, you can move your head over and see who the latest pick was.

Much better than "here are some Sidney Crosby highlights while 4 kids get drafted"

Haha, that's pretty funny.

They do have some really good young forwards. None of them will ever be as good JT (my opinion), but the are hurting on D. I think our defense corps is better than theirs right now.

Marcantuoni off the board...

Pretty sure Nikolai Prokhorkin is still available if we wanna go after a european forward with potential to be a top 6 guy...

Zlobin's got undeniable chemistry with Kabanov... would make Kirill VERY happy to see Zlobin in the fold.

seriously, i dont know what happened to ebert but take him and run. leave him alone for 2-3 years. hugely low risk/ridiculously high reward.
