Prokhorkin could be a good pick too.

I bet they go D with #110.

I don't like the Paterson pick, but I bet this was all Osgood. He is their goalie development guy and with Paterson being a local player he probably has scouted him heavily. A pretty bad pick we shall see if Ozzy knows what he is doing.

Brady Vail, Josh Anderson both gone now. AAArggh, they would have been great picks in teh third!!

Athanasiouis is terrible by the way. Rico Fata 2.0.

I think the younger Gudbranson brother is still available. He interests me some...

Good call. I'd think they have scouted him heavily given he's a local guy and it will be interesting to find out if Ozzy was involved at all with making this pick. If so we'll see how his first draft pick goes.

I'll post what I posted in the Prospects thread:

Martin Frk will be the biggest steal of this draft

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last year he played on an absolutely terrible Halifax Moosehead team finishing 2nd in team scoring as a 16 year old.

Looked amazing in pre season this year before suffering a concussion and missing almost all of the regular season.

Returned to the line up and admittingly he looked sluggish and out of shape.

Trained extremely hard so far in the off season and I believe placed 5 or 6th in the V02 bike tests.

At one point was a sure fire top 10 pick, will have an amazing season next year developing and leading a Mem cup contender in Halifax.

Without a doubt has one of the best set of hands in this draft as well as one of the best releases, he's an extreme competitor and by the looks of it will slip into the 2nd round.

He's going to make the team who selects him in the 2nd round a very very happy team.

I am going to bookmark this thread and cannot wait to bump in a year or two

Quote:
He was the youngest player to represent the Czech Republic at the 2011 World Junior Championship, leading the team with three goals in six games. Frk also competed at the 2010 and 2011 Under-18 World Championship, where he tied for the team lead in scoring in 2010 (2-5--7) and 2011 (1-4--5).

I'm not a fan of Jake Patterson. I saw him play a few times and he didn't really impress.

It's been a Surprising run on goalies in the 2nd and 3rd rounds though... across the board!!

well, I think we have enough of small and skilled players now, no? I like skill though but I wouldnt mind drafting some big guys.

I agree with this. I've never seen Frk play and Hudler actually has a good shot. Frk just seems like a shoot first guy and has the size to get into scoring position. Hudler does not.

Nope. Calle was the last relatively known swedish "Hakan-prospects" left. I really cant see anyone now. He might pick a looong shot at 200. Hultström? That would be a project.

Maybe Djoos?

Hopefully he's Tomas Jurco 2.0. Supposedly has great speed and top flight skill. You can't teach those things, hopefully he can round out the parts you can teach.

Happy with Athanasiouis. Size, skill, like so many of the guys we draft who slide, consistency is the big issue.

Fast skater, good hands, but plays on the perimeter. Lesson still unlearned.

Thought bubble over Babcock's head: "I'll never see any of these guys on my team so I don't care at all..."

Thanks for the info on Frk. I haven't followed draft prospects at all this year. Sounds promising.

This draft is starting to look as bad as the 2006 draft. Talk about a step back after 2 really good drafts in 2010 and 2011.

Ha, It should be noted I posted that before the pick was made !!!!

Not just a blind Holland hater.

I'm a knights fan and I ve seen him for two years now. Athanasiou will never make it out of London!! He needs to be traded this offseason and even then he needs to wake TFU! and find a hockey IQ and a pair of balls.

The Hunter brothers hate him (and with good reason) and healthy scratched him during most of the OHL playoffs.

On the plus side, he is probably the best skater in the draft. However he has no clue how to use his speed...
