I think you'll like Leipsic. I wanted the Pens to draft him and I compared him favorably to Tyler Kennedy (when he plays to his potential). Lots of heart and grit with above average offense.

he's letting his kid do the picks.

Truth: All of the defensemen are being picked. All there is left is Forwards, and Nashville only has 6th rds. for picking a giant Nordic goalie.

Surfing the net, this is what I could find about our guys so far:

Aberg - smallish, highly skilled, blazing fast, high energy. Could be that top 6 guy we always needed. Could project out to a 30g-70pt player. Probably should have gone late 1st round, good pick. About 4 years away (committed to staying in SWE for 2 more years). Has had some injury issues and will need to mature physically.

Sissons - about 3 years away, probably best defensive forward in draft. Not a whole lot of risk. Plays a power forward type game. projects as a 3rd line center who could play higher in a pinch. Ryan Kesler type at best. Might be our Mike Fisher replacement. Another guy who was projected late 1st/early second, so we got good value.

Vesey - 2nd time through the draft, but blew up this year with 91 pts in 45 games. Did play as an overager in a questionable league. Going to Harvard. 3-4 years away. Great offensive prowess, not so much defense, but here's hoping that can be taught in NCAA.

Leipsic - small (maybe too small, is like 5'8"), plays an energy game with high effort, likes to hit. Pest type player, a bottom 6 with some offensive pop - Scott Nichol came up alot when I searched. Alot of scouting reports like this kid if he can put on 20 lbs. Project.

I'm loving this. We needed some forwards, and we're trying to get them.

Now I do think we need to take a defenseman or two and a goalie. Preferably a 6'6 Nordic goalie.

They need a replacement for Mason on the bench.

The Poile only drafts d-men perception is quite far from reality.

Overall, especially with our first two picks and the D we just took, I love our picks.

I think Pavs is a great goalie, but he's holding out threatening KHL.

But why would he do that? Winnipeg is hockey nirvana.
