I have said this before Ceci was drafted but I think the drafting of Ceci Rd is perfect timing which they expect should be NHL ready after another yr in junior & just when Gonchar RD retires or moves on. From what I have seen of Ceci & based on what is written about him with his size he is pretty close to NHL ready now & could compete for a roster spot this fall. While I think he will be returned to junior along with Prince it's next season when I think he challenges for a roster spot.

Prince is no longer Junior eligible I think. He'd be in Bingo or Elmira next season.
The thing is that Prince is so much better than Martindale. He's more AHL ready than Martindale.
Exactly. Martindale ALWAYS had consistency and motivation issues. All the talent in the world but he took A LOT of shifts off. Like I said earlier, he should have been back with the 67s to work on consistency.
We're not afraid of developing d-men in the NHL. That's what we did with Karlsson and it turned out fine.
Different scenarios. Ceci won't have the AHL option like Karlsson did. While I agree that Ceci can push for a roster spot, he's best left in junior one more year before making the jump to pro when we will be able to send him to Bingo for stretches if need be.

This and it gives the 67s a chance to market the heck out of him to draw people to SBP. If Prince was to play one more year, I'd imagine the entire marketing campaign would be around those two.
I'm sure the organization will give him a chance to make the team.
It's no secret we have a hole that hasn't been filled at RD on the third pairing. If he has a huge camp, he could definitely start the year with the team.

Ceci has NHL ready size, skating, and shot. I'd like to see him back with the 67s though to work on his physicality which is something he mentioned he wants to work on. It'll be easier adding that edge against kids rather then men imo, he'll gain confidence in the O using his body since he's bigger then most of the players in the league.

Hockey ops won't make a decision based on 67's marketing material lol what are you smoking
if a player comes back to the CHL for an overage year, he generally isnt considered a great prospect. by 20 years old, if you've been picked by a team they're generally going to want you in their pro system somewhere, coached and trained by our own people, rather than keep him in the CHL competing sometimes against 16 year olds.
i would be shocked if prince is back with the 67s this year, and if he is, its a sign the sens are down on him. i think there's a good chance ceci is still with the 67s because he's probably a lock for the WJC, he's a local kid, and he'll be playing in the same building so we can keep a really close eye on him.
