I'm really not impressed with the volume of USHLers. I just really don't see a point.

They're college bound, so it gives us more time before we have to sign them. It's actually pretty smart, so long as your not skipping significantly better guys from elsewhere.

4 to 5 years of development before you need to make a contract decision.

I understand that, but the lack of USHLers who ever amount to anything after the 3rd Round is truly astounding.

I refuse to comment on anyone, the only people who should comment whether it's a good or bad pick is someone who's seen him play.

I'm just telling you what history suggests and how WE SHOULD TAKE JESSE GRAHAM.

Ranked 50th among NA skaters.

A few quotes I found in a 45 second google search:

Quote:
Who is Robert Baillargeon?

Robert Baillargeon is a 6’0, 175 lb forward from Enfield, Connecticut. He rose to prominence as a star high school player, eventually joining Massachusetts’ Cushing Prep school in 2009-2010. The Following year he broke out with 65 points in 31 games. He joined the Indiana Ice in 2011-2012 and posted a respectable 48 points in 54 games there, as well as 6 points in 6 playoff games. He's set to join Boston University this fall to play for the Terriers.
Quote:
Cushing Coach Rob Gagnon says he compares Baillargeon to ex-Terrier Nick Bonino, "except he skates better than Nick did. His strengths are his skating and stick skills as well as his hockey IQ. He does need to improve his consistency of always bringing it each shift. His top level is really high, but when he takes a shift off he is then just a good player. I think the sky is the limit once he figures out how to be consistent."

Yeah, but this year's draft is balls in the late rounds, so at least we have a longer window to evaluate our longshot picks.

Ouch. I think that is what might be considered "damning with faint praise". He couldn't think of anyone higher profile to compare him to?

I thought Mccormick and Dzingel were nice pickups last year out of the USHL so if this guy is as good or better, I'll be pleased. BU is a great place to develop.

Still early, but McCormick and Dzingel are looking pretty damn good value for their draft slot.

Fat, wenching, drunk...handy with a warhammer but likely has topped out. No upside and likely on the way down.
