From the Goalie Guild:

Quote:
CHRIS DRIEDGER: Currently ranked 12th among North American goaltenders by NHL Central Scouting, Driedger displays a very calm demeanor in the net, and he moves with good balance due to a low center of gravity. He has very little excess movement, and is the most minimalistic and economical of the four. His game is very simple; he doesn’t waste any excess energy, he stays in good position, and he shows elements of durability by quietly letting the puck, and the play, come to him.

Because of this demeanor, he should rank higher than most draft-eligible goalies on your fantasy league scale. I know Driedger has been through a total whirlwind since he was invited to perform in the two-day Research and Development back in August, but the experience he has gained will pay off in the future. He wasn’t even supposed to play in this game, but earned the invitation when Malcolm Subban was ruled out due to injury.

Furthermore, he’s getting hot at just the right time; he went a perfect 6-0 in January for the Calgary Hitmen, posting a miniscule 1.29 goals-against average and .954 save percentage along the way. He won’t carry the same type of hype as an Andrei Vasilevski or a Subban, but due to his quiet and poised nature in the net, he’s certainly worth watching.

All of our picks after Ceci seem to follow a trend of the players being seen as very raw but talented. They're swinging for the fences with all these picks and with our good development track record it could pay off. Looking forward to seeing some of the lesser known names at the dev camp.

Wow, definitely would have gone with Frederik Andersen if we wanted a goalie. Questioning the scouts with this one but I must trust.

Anderson left Carolina because he didn't want to be stuck behind Ward and be in a Thomas/Rask or Luongo/Schneider situation.

I doubt he'd look forward to being 4th on our depth chart behind Andy, Lehner and Bishop.

Goalie prospects are hard to predict. It’s a good pick regardless as the team was desperate to get a goalie and the scouts definitely see something in him to pick this high. Fills an organizational need.

Being from Calgary there was huge hype about this guy in January-ish when the Hitmen went on that huge winning streak.

He certainly isn't super awesome amazing like those three goaltenders everyone knows that went early, but he has shown flashes of being unbeatable.

I thought he would go in the 2nd round with the terrible depth of this draft actually. Pretty good value pick.

Kid didn't get a lot of game time his 16 year however he did reap benefit of working out with the team co-owner during goalie practice. TC Americans are owned by Olaf Kolzig and he spent the year after he retired working the goalies until he took a job in June 2011 as an asst goalie coach with the Capitals. Dreidger gained a lot of knowledge from a NHL goaltender, something a lot of young guys don't get.

Here is a pre-draft Ross Maclean of ISS interview and he loves Chris Driedger.

Check it out at about 9:25 mark.

Thanks. Yeah he sounds really high on him. Nothing bad to say.
