Why did we do that? It could end up being lower.

2013 is supposed to be a great deep draft. You could have low level crap or a chance for middle level player.

Or, low level crap.

Also Nashville already has 5 forwards and 1 defenseman. Only thing I'm expecting is a goalie with one of the 6ths. If anything, I would gamble, 1 goalie and the rest traded to 2013.

Could be, but the Preds decided that the players on their list would be available with their 3 6th round picks and decided to grab an extra pick in next year's draft instead of reaching here...

Yeah, I'm gonna sit in the corner here and shut up for the rest of the draft because I think Poile just wants to make me look like a fool. LOL!

It's ok, I feel the same way

I didn't think there was a chance in hell we would take Aberg. He seems so...not Predator.

Fernholm with a nice jump on Central Scouting's rankings from midseason to the final .... 32nd on the Euro skater rankings. Tall, lanky, needs to fill out that 6'4 frame.

Poile going with the shotgun approach on forwards, draft a bunch and odds are one or two pan out.

Biggest news out of this draft is we did not trade Suters rights. Poile obviously thinks we have a shot after july 1

A european goalie over 6'4? Man, I'm shocked!

Good pick, we needed more goalie depth. With Lindy gone, we need to start re-stocking the cupboard

Hellberg, Smith, Pickard, the rights to Caron, Engren back in Europe, now the new kid from Czech. The cupboard is pretty stocked at goaltender.

The way this team produces goalies.... not a bad thing at all

Caron is gone, highly doubt we re-sign him. Smith is a back-up at absolute best. Engren could be good, but he hasn't shown too much yet. All of our eggs are in Hellberg's basket. It's good to pick up somebody else just in case.

With goalies as unpredictable as they are, I'd rather have a goalie late than a forward.

I know pretty much every team says this, but I'm thrilled with our draft, especially considering we didnt have a first.

Any of the long time guys remember when this team was called the 'Smirfs?'

Looks more like college basketball team.

A lot of those same things applied to Lindback ... a back-up at best right now who hasn't shown that much yet in his limited time. There are always backup FA goaltenders available during the summer if needed. Just look at the history of the 16 goaltenders the team drafted prior to this year ... this is a reach pick, not really a re-stocking.

All i want is a goalie who can take Rinne's place in 6 years. The rest, trade fodder to build up the draft pick list.

You really want him benchwarming in year 7, BFC? At 7 million he'd better still be making saves. ;-)

Caron could't tend a shrimp stand, let alone an NHL goal. I don't think we have any intention of retaining him. Engren isn't coming back, and Pickard might actually be worse than Brian Finley. For all intents and purposes, Hellberg and Smith are all we have. Mazanec's not great, but he was probably the best available.

He'll probably split starts with Adam Svoboda again this year, then come over next year.
