Might have something to do with the cost of running it here.

Can't believe Ebert was the last pick in the draft.

Ebert is a headcase, has terrible hockey IQ, and known for being lazy.

And put up 39 points as a defenseman and picked last in the draft. I'd say it's worth a shot.

and that explains him dropping out of the 1st round, maybe even the 2nd...but all the way to the last pick in the draft?

we've seen guys drop big time before and teams take them in the 3rd or 4th round thinking they got a steal and then you never hear from the guy again cause there was a reason they dropped. but it always amazes me to see a guy drop so far in their draft year

Question for everyone;

Can Skeji and Nieves even attend Prospect Camp later this week with NCAA commitments? I know they will 100% not be at Traverse until they declare they are going pro.

Ironically, none of the Rangers picks this year will be at Traverse City because of NCAA Rules and the SEL starting up early.

NCAA prospects can attend, but they have to pay their own way. I could be wrong, but I think I remember Stepan attending the prospects camp shortly after we drafted him.

Sounds like the players the Rangers drafted have some potential to be at least useful players down the road.

I'm surprised they bypassed Slepyshev (not drafted, maybe effort level not always what you'd like, difficult to lure him from the KHL?), Zharkov (not as physical as often as you'd like?), Prokhorkin; Emil Lundberg (just noticed he wasn't drafted; maybe still too raw?) [Assessments above mentioned in the Hockey News draft preview]. Still, I would have traded down from #28 overall, but what can you do.

Other notes, was surprised Brandon Whitney lasted until the 7th round, was listed among the top 5 goalies going in, apparently, the teams though otherwise; Matheson went earlier (Florida, #23 overall) went earlier than I thought.

It's pretty obvious that the Rangers have been focusing mostly on North American players and especially Americans. The only exception to that rule seems to be Swedes.
