6'1", apparently. He's the family midget.

Tim is 6'1'' per nhl.com, Brian is 6'7" IIRC.

The #1 google search result for "Tim Boyle hockey prospect" is this very thread.

Not the most promising discovery, haha...

Must be a good program, I see 3 kids so far drafted from his team.
Not bad for a high school!

As is often the case, they were probably there to scout somebody else.

I think a lot of Sens fans hear 'high school player' and immediately think of Brian Lee...and then shortly after...think of Anze Kopitar.

The fourth round is probably a good time to roll the dice on high schoolers though. The first round wasn't (I'm looking at you John Muckler).

Don't know if it's been noted, but he's a 1993. So a year older.

Wasn't Lee a USHL player when we drafted him? I know he played Minnesota HS hockey and was Mr. Minnesota (or whatever that award is), but didn't he have a season in the USHL behind him when we took him?

Anyways: sure, 4th round, take a gamble. I'm just saying I don't like the track record US high school position players have. That being said, I'm clearly hoping Boyle can break that trend.

In the first round, yes.

In anything but the first round: only Goalies, it seems (Jonathan Quick, Tom Barrasso come to mind immediately)

Mike Modano I think (EDIT: nope was wrong on that). The typical ones are higher risk, it's not the same level of competition as Junior (USHL or CHL) or NCAA.

This is very long term project. He's going to college. We might see this kid in 4-5 years from now.

Fair enough.

Seems to me that the sens are drafting for safety through the college route. Lots of practice time, less game time. They must like the Boston U development program.

Kinda disappointed we didn't manage to grab Calle Andersson with this pick but I've never seen Boyle play so I won't judge.

So he was ranked 203rd but we felt the need to jump at him at 106th? This has gotta be some sort of twisted revenge against Brian...

Did anyone hear Pierre Dorions breakdown on him? Best player at the beanpot outside of Jankowski, that tournament is no joke tons of nhl draft picks OHL players and guys that have commited to division one schools. Yet again by picking a college player he has lots of time to develop, he clearly has the hockey blood in him and he is probably still growing.

I don't know anything about him, but I'm sure he would have still been available in the 5th round, if not the 7th, just based on his ranking.
