A speedy player with plenty of intensity. Has good puck skills and hockey sense. Has a rather smallish frame, but initiates physical contact and plays with a lot of heart. Contributes offensively. Great attitude. (EP 2012)
You guys are killing me. I've always torn this team up for developing youth, but I usually wait a couple years after a draft to do it. Nobody knows any of these guys, they could all be studs or crap. We've never gone by the list, and once your past the first 5 picks everyones lists are completely different.
Pretty much we look at how tall they are, how much they weigh, how many points they scored, and then decide we don't like them and JR has failed us again.
I did a brief twitter-view with him the other day. He's a funny kid and genuinely likes being part of the organization.
Confirmed that he's not planning to come to North America for at least another year. Plans to stay with Frolunda where he'll eventually be trying to make the senior team.
FWIW, Frolunda has one of the more NHL-heavy teams in Sweden. Last year's roster included PJ Axelsson,Frederik Andersen (our departed draft pick), Christian Backman and Fredrik Sjostrom. If he can hang in with them, he'll be on a good track to make the jump to the AHL after next season.
I watched a bit of him at the prospect camp. Again, big grain of salt as it was only this year's prospects, but he was one of the more skilled guys. I was a bit surprised. Good hands, nice shot, good skater, good moves in the little bit I saw. He and di Giuseppe stood out.
But he was noticeably small. About the same height as di Guiseppe, but very slight / much thinner. IMO, he really needs to mature and get stronger.
