I don't know when it became a big thing to pretend like Kelowna would ever let him captain their team, but let's stop it.

If all those guys pan out this is going to be a very annoying D to play against. A good mix of skill , size , speed , toughness , grit and getting under your skin. Not to mention that there is a hard hitter on every pairing.

Even though nothing is certain , i like the look of it.

Expected him to be a loudmouth or at least an excitable player given his relatively controlled but high intensity physical play. He's calm cool and collected. To be honest that's how I saw his defensive game as well.

Best part is that Saskatoon will be a top team for the Mem Cup next season.

Awesome - Habs blueline is full of good sized, hard nosed prospects with talent. With Thrower, Dietz, Ellis, Beaulieu, Tinordi we have a rock solid foundation coming through the pipeline. I'm extremely happy with Timmins this draft.

Sure it takes mistakes by other teams for a player to still be on the board. But the only person who wins is the person who makes the right pick. Lotta losers let Zach Parise slip down his draft year, but that doesn't take anything away from what NJ got when they picked him.

I'm hoping we got a couple of steals in this draft, starting with our first pick.

Cant believe we got thrower too, ..i heard it on the radio this morning, i was stunned (drunk) to hear we got thrower at 33.... turns out COLLBERG went 33 miraculously and we get thrower with the SECOND 2nd round pick

unreal draft...i really dont know what to say

you go in this thing, knowing a bunch of names, hoping for a couple guys, ...but never do you think youd really END up with guys like collberg and thrower, its just an absolute bonus having taken galchenyuk to boot

i love all of you! LOL

What I wrote about thrower wasn;t a scouting report, it was in response to why Thrower might not be picked 33rd overall..ther are some issues with his game, otherwise he would have been a first rounder. He has such strong character and determination though that i suspect he'll overcome his deficiencies and be a solid NHLer some day. He is one tough hombre for his size, reminds me a bit of Wendel Clark.

Since he's a late birth date, he will likely turn pro next summer with his teammate Deitz, so that should help both with their transition to the AHL. Will be fun to see both in the Memorial Cup next year.

Honestly, he looks like a ********* and talks like one too. Players are gonna hate him, no wonder he gets into fights.

Where are those people who ask 'but can he fight?' when you need them.

Him Dietz and Tinordi could make this Defence squad pretty aggressive, adding Emelin, Beaulieu and Subban who are pretty physical also.

Thrower is the type of player you need to have in your lineup when you play
against teams like the Flyers and Bruins. We needed some sand-paper in our
lineup. Well done Trevor!!!
