You'd have to think if Phoenix trades him it's because they have OEL and Gormley on the way and they want to high end offensive players.

The rumor I heard on Phillie was for JVR or Couturier and a 1st. Do we want to trade our #3 pick or Pacioretty for another offensive d-man?
Philly can afford to make that move. Their 1st isn't a high one and JVR with all the young players the Flyers have acquired in the last year is falling quickly in Philly. I don't think they care about JVR to be honest and they would move him in a heartbeat

If that's the price, then no, we are way too thin up front to move MaxPac, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be interested in Yandle.

According to Lavoie on RDS, B. Ryan wants to play in Philly.

He said probably JVR would be involved.

Penguins trade Michalek back to Phoenix for 2 prospects and a 3rd rounder

Making salary cap room that's for sure. Might take a shot at both Suter and Parise

Gaston Therrien is so friggin retarded, as always.

How can he expect the Habs to trade for Staal when he would ultimately sign in Carolina next year?

He's getting his panties in a bunch for nothing.

I rather think they'll be aiming for Semin. And with the new contract for Crosby, not too sure they'll go after 2 additional 7m+ players when they'll already have Malkin and Crosby raking 9-10 mil each on their next contracts.

And Brendan Sutter is already taking Michalek's place, so there's no place for a D unless they trade someone else. So Ryan Suter doesn't really make any sense.

No, Brandon Suter is taking Staal's place. Besides, the Pens got a Dman in the trade.

J Staal isn't even a good fit with the Habs. I doubt Staal would be a good no1, he's more of a two way no2 like Plekanec. Eller has the potential of becoming that kind of player so there was no need to sell the farm for a redundant player. Galchenyuk has a higher ceiling than Staal anyways.

I hope the hell this doesn't happen AGAIN.. Both sides can't be this stupid to let this happen again are they?

Donít count on there being an NHL season next year..

I don't see a lock out, both sides have come out of the last CBA in good shape after a rough first few years. Two small makets made runs in Nashville and Phoenix. The current CBA is basically good, may need some twaks but no way should there be a strike or lock out.

I agree. Maybe I'm just reassuring myself, but there isn't much wrong with this current CBA. I believe the majority of teams are making money, there is parity in the league AND players are still getting paid well. Obviously it's a simplistic way of looking at things, but another lockout could really hurt this league. With LA winning the Cup, NYR as a good team, Winnipeg joining, Phoenix and Nashville as good small market teams and Florida finally moving ahead, the league is as popular as ever.

Gustavsson traded to Toronto for a conditional 7th round pick in 2013. Pretty much nothing.

The Pens are really active ! Parise would be a great complement to Crosby.

Right. For the moment, that's what he wis worthing. Not much more. But he,s gonna end up with about 4 million a year in Montreal for the next one or two.

Why would Philly do that?

And people call the Flyers a model franchise?
