For those that saw both players play, how does he compare to Gallagher?
Collberg is a natural goal scorer with speed to burn. Gallaghers goal scoring prowess comes from a good shot, but also determination, crease crashing, work ethic and good hand-eye.
Collberg is going to beat you in transition. Gallagher is going to beat you in the cycle game.

Thanks, interesting comparison. Sounds like Collberg would be a good player to play with a center like Plek and Gallagher with a center like Eller then. And ofc Gally when he gets here...
Why is RDS putting him in a Daniel Alfresson mold? Is it me or he's a total different player? I see him more as water bug type offensive player like St-Louis or Jeff skinner.

Yeh, I see Gallagher more of a Gionta/Brad Marchand
Should have gone much earlier. Watched the U18 WC and Collberg is just miles better than a player like Gaunce who was still picked before him and the difference between Collberg and Forsberg is definitely not 22 picks.

Looks like TT still knows a thing or 2 about drafting players. Despite all of the chaos and poor management from those above him, this guy has been one of the brightest lights for the habs and deserves to be commended for all of his great work. I vote for a Trevor Timmins appreciation thread to be started. The guy is a gem.

He was mostly talking about physically (saying they have similar frames, meaning he's confident Collberg will develop the strength to be able to handle traffic in the NHL), still I'll trust Timmins there if he sees parallels.

1:08.. Look how he stops near the boards, draws 1 Dmen to him, gets the other one flat footed, and flips the puck to someone joining the rush.. Seems so subtile, yet so freeking beautiful.

"He's 5-foot-11 and he's really thick and stocky, big legs on him," Timmins said. "He's built similar to Daniel Alfredsson, who I was with in Ottawa, and he plays a similar style of game -- on the puck, really committed and passionate about his game."

Yeah, I agree with this. However, I would add something still. Probably where Gallagher and Collberg are most similar is that they're both always trying to get at the net, every shift. Gallagher, however, is always trying to take the goaltender with him , and Collberg is always trying to curl off the boards looking for a snipe.
If you give either of them an inch, they try to take a mile. They're always buzzing.

Thanks, bro! Appreciate the work into making the video.
I remember watching the U18 looking for Forsberg and continually being impressed by Collberg's vision, creativity, fluidity with the puck and his skill. Great great pick.

I don't see it, Cammy game was all about position himself and one timers, while Collberg is making plays at high speed.
He's got that sick release and the way he just walks into the slot and waits that extra second before shooting to get the goalie off. But I do agree that he looks like a much better skater no doubt. Also looks really shifty.
Yeah, maybe LA Cammi a bit, but Collberg's got a lot more going for his game in the way of IQ, technical ability and skating. Doesn't have that ridiculous one timer though...
