Badly.

No need to start the car up in the garage or anything, but this has not been a strong weekend.

Schenn is younger and being acquired after a down year.

JVR was signed to an extension too early and traded after a down year.

Value wise Toronto wins, but I think the Schenns together will be good. Certainly, we are net acquiring heart.

Agreed with that...I'm really disappointed we're losing him. You guys are getting a real gem.

I like this move for Philly, you guys needed D badly, you got a decent guy to help you out.

Good deal for us, we need D and we have an excess of forwards, and he has been disappointing so far.

I was hoping JVR would be packaged for something bigger.

This might be the best part of this trade.

I honestly feel sorry for JVR. I think he was the Bobby Ryan of Philly - unappreciated and constantly being dangled in trades. He has so much potential. I feel like Toronto will benefit from this in a huge way and it may be bittersweet for us.

That being said, I don't know if he was ever the right fit for this team.

Love the move for both teams.

We needed someone like Schenn and JVR became a luxury

Welp. All i can say this is good for both players. Both highly touted players who have been expected of producing more but not showing the flashes of brilliance at a consistent level.

What a horrendous weekend. Never good feeling like your team actually got worse after draft weekend.

I don't understand how people can be this upset over this move? Worst in franchise history??? They traded an unproven forward with a high ceiling for an unproven defenseman with a high ceiling. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!?

Timonen, Grossmann, Coburn, Meszaros, Schenn. Maybe this means no Carle? One would hope.

This. I keep saying we mismanage players. I am not a big JvR fan but still rather than trade him after a long contract, we should be making more reasonable extensions.

They'll get over it. Its just their affection for the player they liked.

IMO i think i am going to love seeing Schenn in the orange and black.

I think this is a good move, I like Schenn I think hes better then most give him credit for and he is what we need a RH shot physical defensemen that blocks a ton of shots. I think he has more offensive game then hes given credit for too.

I do think this is it for the offseason though as far as trades go.
