Bulmer has pissed off guys at training camp the past few years with his physicality. Wonder if this guy and Dumba will be doing the same...haha.

I think we got a steal here. He was a late riser and well like Lucia last year.
He was actually a huge faller:

CSS midterm rank: 57
CSS final rank: 129

Seems like he scored all of his goals before January and then did not do much until the playoffs.

He was a riser after that though. He fell because of an extremely hot start to the season was followed by a really dead period on the score sheet. However, he went on a late run and was a key part of their playoff series (3-5-8 in 5 games).

His team went downhill around January, and it was a team thing.... They like all just stopped responding... I don't know the whole story, barring a trade his coach this year will be the man who led Shawinigan to the Mem Cup.

Good point.

Forgot Veilleux would be the new Drakkar head coach.

And they've got a team that should finish top 10, he should work wonders there. He did well with Kabby in Shawi, and IIRC Bussieres is a late 93 and AHL eligible in 2013-2014.

He is a late 93, but he would have been AHL eligible anyway based on already having 3 seasons pre-draft.

Having watched the second and third videos, he mentions that he started off hot both of those seasons(when he was 15, and then again when he was 17?). I wonder if it's a trend? Could he be a guy who goes 150% for the beginning of a season and then burns out?

Granted, I'm just basing this off of stats and those videos, but it makes me wonder.

Wow, didn't realize this but Bussieres was ranked as highly as 11th (by Button) in September. He finished the year out of Button's top 60 though.

Someone just posted Button's September rankings, and Button had him 11th overall!

Looking at Craig's list over the course of the fall, and into winter, he dropped about 10 spots a month until he was out of the top 60.

Wonder what happened....

edit: ah, squidz found that too.

Well, his team went totally down during January-March.

Makes sense.

This is definitely an interesting one.
I talked about it in some of my articles, but Bussieres had a red hot first half until an injury hit before the Canada/Russia series. He came back and after a few weeks, it just seemed like the wheels fell off for both him and Baie-Comeau.
His second half was pretty atrocious, again an injury in there too.

Baie-Comeau fired their coach right before the playoffs and the whole team seemed to respond to that, including Bussieres who turned it around for the playoffs (but also served a suspension in the playoffs and missed some games).

There's some inconsistency and discipline issues there. Needs to understand how to play with an edge without crossing that line. A lot of that growth will dictate what kind of player he is going to be. At the junior level, he's definitely more valuable to Baie-Comeau on the ice than he is in the penalty box.

As mentioned, the Drakkar have a new coach for next season. Bussieres will be an interesting one to watch to see how he responds. The biggest question I have about him is whether or not he'll ever just "figure it out".

I sure hope having the Memorial Cup champion head coach will help him next season.

I know the Wild are pretty active in the development of their draft picks. Judging from some of the book on him (about starting fast and burning out) it stands to reason that there's underlying factors there that could be worked out. If so, that's an awful lot of talent to have picked up in the 2nd round.

Another nice FRB article on Raph with compilation videos.

I like his body position, and he has a few snipes in there.

You're welcome. Thought I mind as well give you some props for work well done. Plus, Raph hasn't gotten as much discussion as other prospects.

Seriously?

Bussieres had FOUR goals and SIX assists for TEN POINTS in his last THREE games.

I did the unthinkable and started a thread on the prospects boards. See if he gets any love or hate. I'm guessing just crickets.
