From Eklund

*Flyers and Leafs are reportedly in discussions.. I am told it is NOT JvR for Schenn.

The Dion? JM Liles?

So, what he's saying is, it could be something else for Schenn.

Liles could make sense though--obviously not for JVR. I believe they got him for a 2nd? With Reilly on board, and Schultz possibly to follow, I could see him being expendable.

Dynamic and inconsistent, I think.

JVR for Phaneuf?

Seeks...risky.

I'd rather get Liles/Schenn but certainly would not complain if Phaneuf were here. However, Hartnell may not be too happy.

I'd rather keep JVR personally, I've never been impressed with Luke Schenn's game.

I like the deal. As stated above, I hope something else is coming back our way though.

Not too thrilled about it. I think since jvr is gone, that will be our only big trade of the off season

The Flyers need a winger now if they end up losing Jagr and JVR. I wonder how they could add an impact winger without giving up a major piece. I thought JVR would be that piece. Do they sign Parise? What do they do with cap space?

Parise might hurt in the long run when Giroux, Schenn and Couts need a new contract (all on the same year), in terms of cap that is. But maybe Talbot and Wellwood can switch up 3rd line LW?

I don't see why they shouldn't bring back Jagr at this point.

I think I'd throw a massive offer at Parise first, since Jagr is likely to want to figure out what his value is anyway.

If Parise passes, match whatever anybody else pays Jagr on a one year deal, and figure out the long-term picture later...

I just don't like Voracek as a winger for Giroux unless the other side has a purer scorer offensively.

Honestly Semin wouldn't be a bad person to go after. Probably a 1 year deal. He essentially replaces JVR who was never great on defense to start. Plus he gives Giroux a finisher to pass to.

In this UFA market, Semin is going to command much more then a 1 year deal.
