A lot of that has to do with the negative publicity some of our players receive from the local mediots....especially young players experiencing growing pains.

I can't wait to see those guys in action, especialy all those who will participate in the u20: Collberg, Hudon and maybe Thrower and Nystrom. Bozon i seriously doubt we will see him, doubt France makes an impact. We already know that both Galchenyuk and Veil won't be at the US camp cause they are playing in the CHL.

Dietz and Thrower are with Saskatoon who will host the MC.

Bozon plays for Kamloops, who won't.

When's the last time we drafted without a guy going to the NCAA?

Colin Sullivan last year, who will be playing in the NCAA this upcoming season. Josiah Didier played for U of Denver as well.

edit: Misunderstood.

He said not drafting a guy that is headed for the NCAA. Here's the list of picks each year that either were in the NCAA or would go to the NCAA, or was expected to go to the NCAA.

2011- Didier/Sullivan
2010- MacMillan/Tinordi (was headed for the NCAA at the time)
2009-Leblanc/Bennett/Walsh/Cichy
2008- Kristo/Quailer/Johnson
2007- McDonagh/Pacioretty/Stejskal/Conboy/Kishel
2006- Fischer
2005- Philippe Paquet
2004- Wyman/Gleed
2003- O'Byrne
2002- Higgins
2001- Komisarek
2000- Hainsey/Ryan Glenn/Scott Selig
1999- Chris Dyment
1998- Craig Murray
1997- Ben Guite
1996- Brett Clark
1995- none

So the answer is, 1995 was the last time the Habs didn't draft someone that was affliated with the NCAA in some way.

He already signed with Metallurg Novokuznetsk, hence why he was passed by every team.

Dan Kramer ‏@DailyCanadiens

“I was a fan [going into the draft], but I’m more a fan coming out of it. This guy is class,” Bergevin said of Timmins.

The mutual respect between these two gentlemen is just is great to see.

Can you imagine how TT must feel after the time under Gauthier who wouldn't even let him do interviews .. My god.

By the sound of Brady Vail's most recent tweet, sounds like the Habs had a nice dinner with all drafted prospects & administration/scouting staff. Loving this new management so far

I'm sure they did that before though. I do like the Timmins availability for sure.

Possibly so, but as you said, the availability. No way in hell we would have that video under PG.

One possibility could be that they were actually trying to trade up for guys that ended up slipping to them.

Im pretty sure it was TT if they wanted to trade up in the top part of the draft. If it was in the later stages, it probably was for Matteau

Definitely Matteau. Fits the tough/talented winger bill and Quebecois.
