DD the second line role. I was right on Kostitsyn and will be right on Plekanec. His days are numbered. WHat was Plekanec plus minus last year compare to DD?? Enought said, check mate!!!

I'm not sure what you said but the brother makes a valid point.
Gal
DD
Eller
Should be top 3. That leaves Pleks out because he is not a 4 guy.
We could use him to acquire a more needed asset do don't fret.

DD should 1st or 2nd line as a winger, only Patch and Cole should be ahead of him, on par with Gio (who's aging while DD is blossoming).

Plekanec is our best forward. I'd play Gally on his left next year. Gally is physically ready for the NHL.

None of them for now. Philadelphia has had 4 quality centers for several years and they make it work.

If Galchenyuk could become our #1 Centre in 2-3 years, Pleky would be a perfect fit at #2. I like Desharnais too, we could put him on the wing on our top 2 line. Nothing's wrong with a good playmaker on the wing just like St. Louis even tho he's a better goal scorer. Eller would be great at #3 and if Pleky slows down in a couple of years, hopefully ELler can move to the #2 Centre. As for Leblanc, I'd put him on the wing with Eller on the 3rd line.

Every single coach will like Plekanec because he's a professional and is dedicated to his team. Yeah he is not the grittiest player but he doesn't need to be because he excels in other aspects of the game. Patofqc just can't understand that. I bet he thinks Gretzky sucks because he never fights and throw big hits.

I don't think Leblanc has played center even for Hamilton, he's winger plain and simple.

He did the same with Staal, he played him right away. Gally-Pleks-Gionta is a real good line. Gally can play center later in his career.

If anything I'd get rid of DD he's too damn small and once Galy cracks the roster it's him or Eller on the bubble. I'm still not sold on Eller, next season will be a make or break year for him.
Great post. I agree with you regarding Eller. His progression has not been that good.

That is a terrible idea. Do not put Galy on wings... or Eller for that matter.

If Plekanec is soft......well Desharnais is even worst with his 33 hits last year.....right behind Gomez and Kaberle.

I say Desharnais for sure. Next summer, if DD has a good season again, would you give him a contract like 5 millions for 4-5 years? Making him really hard to trade, knowing full well galchenyuk will take his place way before the end of that contract?

Plus with a trio like Gally, Pleky and Eller, finally will have : Talent, Experience, Offensive, Defensive, Size and Grit......well everything you need.

Can you tell me what DD could bring to the table that these guys doesn't have.

I can see DD on the wing....but even there....not him and Gio on the same team.

When you draft a number 1 center maybe it's not such a great idea to put him on the wing? Maybe?

No Gretzky was not a choke job like Plekanec is. We will never win the cup with Plekanec has one of our top 3 centers. Folks its ok to be attached to a player because he is a nice guy, but we are building a winning hockey team here, and Plekanec wont be here when we become a contender. MARK MY WORDS!!! I was right with the Kostitsyn, and i will be right on this one.

My friend being soft his being afraid of going in the corners and in front of the net, where Plekanec never goes. DD is always there even if he is the smallest guy in the ice. DD has the heart of a champion and he will be a perfect number 2 center for 10 years.

Seguin started his career at the wing on a deeper roster than us. He plays center now.

I say Pleks cause he gets us more return, and we shed more cap.
