Cliff Lee is having a fine season. Why would you look at his zero wins? That's the most overrated stat to judge a pitcher on. He has an ERA of 3.48 and a whip of 1.12. Far superior numbers to Tim.

Lincecum:

6.19 era
1.57 whip
5.50 so/b

Lee:

3.48 era
1.12 whip
2.02 so/b

Lee's lack of wins stems from horrid run support. Lincecum has been much worse than him this season.

When Barry Zito has better stats than you, you know you're in trouble. I don't care how he does this season as long as he bounces back come playoffs.

His struggles weren't so glaring because the Giants could roll out 4 other great starters. But now that Zito is back to being Zito, it puts more pressure on Tim to right the ship sooner than later..

Let's hope sooner is in a couple hours at O.co.

You're right regarding the win stat, my mistake. I agree that it's one of the most overrated stats and it was dumb for me to bring that up. I am trying to look for a silver lining though, and it is concerning that he's not having a very good year, but I do hope he snaps out of it. Whether it's tonight, a month from now, or whenever, based on what he's done in the past, I'm not going to boo him for having a terrible year.

I was totally thinking that as I typed it out.

No worries.

I'm stubborn in my belief he will turn it around this year. His K/9 is still there, he just needs to cut down his walks and avoid that big inning. What's bugging him is between the ears i think, which is a lot better than an injury.

Perfect game against the A's tonight?

Just wanted to point out that you have the SO/BB flip flopped.

I would say 2 of those runs are not Lincecum's fault. Belt and Sanchez (Why is he catching and not Posey?) had a massive collective brain fart on that play and I missed the Blanco one apparently. Maybe that's a silver lining, the Giants team around Lincecum decides to suck? You don't need stats to back that up.

Exactly what happened tonight. One big inning, only 3 hits but 4 walks, 8 k's.

Defense didn't help in the first either. Wtf Belt?

I wish he would do this on a more consistent basis. If he comes out next start and does what he did for the final 3 batters of the first and the other 6 innings, than that's a good sign. Really wish the defense didn't let him down in the first though.

If only Lincecum was still in. Still, hell of a hit.

Quakes win 2-1 against RSL

Quakes tops the Western Conference and the league with 33 pts

Wondo continues to lead the league in goals with his game winning goal making it a baker's dozen

If you're referring to pitch #5 by Lopez to Smith, it was a ball.

http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/...lb_oakmlb_1%2F

The pitch that Coco flipped out on was just off the plate, but too close to take. But I think that reaction had more to do with getting called out on an obvious ball last night with the bases loaded, the inning before Cook imploded.

I don't think you'd be saying this if that Weeks bloop had dropped.

I probably wouldn't. The A's made it intense. I'm just glad the Giants held the lead and came up on top.
