Collberg size is not an issue. He's / will be much bigger than Desharnais / Gionta size. He makes me think of Pleky

He does, but he wasn't getting tossed around this past season. He didn't look out of place, and his lack of production is due to him being put on a checking line with linemates with no offensive instinct at all (mostly played alongside Robin Lindqvist). Johan Sundström got the same treatment his first season, and got a bigger role this past season. For next season Frölunda has lost Sundström plus their top two offensive players, so in Collberg's case it's not about getting a chance at a bigger role, he needs to step in and produce.

6 foot would be where he can end up in 2ish years IMO. If he bulks up, 5'11 is fine. Diaz, Weber, Pleky are all 5'11. They don't dominate physically, but they don't get dominated physically either. So 5'11 is not small at all. 6 Foot would be ideal, fill out his frame to around 180-185 should be good to keep his speed

They better, if they were 150 lbs they would just fly in the air whenever they get checked...

I'm really psyched after seeing Collberg's highlights, I love this type of buzzing player in the opposing zone, they're so dangerous. Him and Gallagher are going to be a blast to watch.

Siked we got Collberg AND Thrower!! The two steals of the draft, not to mention Galchenyuk's upside (which might be better than Yaks). If Thrower and Collberg were 6ft tall , they would be 1rst rounders.

I noticed his name popped up on refresh almost immediately after Oilers picked.

Galchenyuk is pretty scrawny up top......he will need to build his upper body before playing in the NHL. According to Timmins Collberg is built much like Galchenyuk just an inch and a half shorter. Both players have big, thick legs but are still boys on top.

Is Collberg allowed to come with MTL for pre-season? Or is he not allowed since he already has a contract?

Collberg looked like a guy that had a very low fat% at the combine.

Canadiens feel lucky after scoring Sebastian Collberg in NHL draft

"He’s an outstanding skater and he’s on the puck all the time," Timmins says

Quote:
“Overall we’re very happy,” said Timmins. “For the most part, we were happy to see the players we wanted were there when we drafted. We added a lot of power and scoring and we added some toughness and grit. On draft day, it’s like Christmas Day when Santa Claus arrives and we open our gifts and now it’s time to get to work and help them reach their full potential.”

Under the new regime, some of that work will fall to Martin Lapointe and Patrice Brisebois, and Bergevin said “they better put some freakin’ mileage on and start working because that’s why they’re here.”

Timmins said the Canadiens stuck to their plan of taking the best player available.

“We wanted to draft a goaltender and we came close but we couldn’t get one in the spots we were looking at,” he said.

It's great to hear Timmins and Bergevin saying now they need to developpe them, i ask this question to Timmins on the pipeline show (i sent them a e-mail with a question) and the answer was quite evasive, it seemed that the Habs didn't care much about the player after they got drafted at the time.

Also LOL a Hudon from Chicoutimi talking right after Bozon père et fils, they have this huge french accent and next you got un gars du Lac talking, priceless.

Finally got a chance to listen to Timmins. Interesting that when they went to scout Collberg, he got called up, so they drove him to the rink, then took him out to dinner after the game.

Unreal, I was about to post that Gallagher replaces Gio, and that Colls does not replace anyone, because we don't have anyone like him on the team, or in our pool of prospects.

A pure scorer, really quick hands.

****ing very happy with our first three picks.

Hockey starts and ends with leg strength. Upper body can be honed to the type of player you are.

Nothing beats Desharnais getting called up from Hamilton a couple of years ago and getting a ride to Montreal.

In a limo.

actually to which nhl player Colberg is compared?

For the rest, I like this pick, it was my choice, I dont see a lot form him. I read more than I see and i remember than fro what I watch on tv, I like him but I dont think I could be interested to even think to use a top 20 pick to grab him. That said, another excellent pick for TT
