I dont know how available Franson is right now. For an overpayment like a first round pick sure. If you hadn't traded Bobrovsky a package to get him may have worked.
Now that could easily change. If we were to get lucky and sign Schultz, Franson would probably be the odd man out. Or if one of our defensive prospects shines at camp he could be much more available.
If franson was pushed out by another player I would be looking for maybe a vet bottom 6 guy who is a great penalty killer. Someone like Talbot but after the decent season he had I'm guessing you guys would be reluctant to trade him.
LOL who says Franson was the best part of the package? It could be Kadri + Franson + pick.

Think of it this way if a Leaf made a thread inquiring about a 4th line forward would you think an appropriate response would be for a fan of that team to ask for Gardner?

Please stop Couterier is a prime asset of Philly one that they will not give up. You should have seen the Philly-Pitt series if you wanted to see how good he was.

Monty aint a bad player by any means but he is coming off of two concussions and hasn't played in quite a while. He probably needs to come back and prove he can play for him to be dealt otherwise he is pretty much a pure cap dump at this point. You would have to gamble that he can come back and still be the same player he was before. I don't mind Monty coming back but I would rather be rid of the cap hit.

If you want a Couterier vs Gardiner argument, go create it somewhere else. Both are good players will probably turn out to be great players for their respective teams but Couterier is younger and played behind all the depth in Philly so his numbers don't reflect how good he can be. Now please take this elsewhere so we can actually be on topic.
Are guys interested in our(San Jose) RHD Dmen. We have two young NHL Dmen with Top 4 potential in Jason Demers and Justin Braun. They are both two way dmen and play on the powerplay reguraly. Demers has more potential and is better offensively than Braun. We also have Dan Boyle who is available. He is a number 1 PMD Dman.We will only trade the young guys for young guys. Don't ask about Brent Burns, he is untouchable.
