Ruckus or Zip usually do the prospect polls every year at a set time. I think it begins in July. I don't care when it's done but some might. Also Foligno is still a prospect. I'd vote Grigerenko.
Another reason to hold this is due the August 15th deadline for signing of NCAA players. We all assume that Jokinen and Eidsness are gone, but MacKenzie still be signed and placed in Gwinnett.
Is McNabb a rookie or not? Is he eligible for ROY?
Do we have three ROY candidates on our roster? Crazy!
McNabb(if rookie), Foligno and Grigorenko
yes, mcnabb is eligible for ROY. he played 25 games last season, which is the allowed maximum.
foligno only played 14 games, so he is eligible as well.
Personally I like to wait until training camp but people usually start clamoring after prospect camp when we can at least see these guys on the ice together. Besides, we'll just have to revote anyway after Pysyk and McNabb are traded to Anaheim.
My general opinion is that Grigorenko is no lower than 2, probably 1 and the Girgensons is either 3 or 4 depending on where you put McNabb (I'd go McNabb 3).

A lot of people would probably agree, but depending on how they vote, Catenacci and Sundher may be higher as they have higher ceilings then Girgensons, at least at this moment from most scouting reports that I've read.

I may have put Catenacci too low but I would consider 6-10 to be pretty interchangeable. Sundher I was voting for at #4 in the spring rankings ( ) right around the time he got traded, hurt and fell down the map. He needs to win me back a bit after I got over-enthused (my fault).
anyone know with the lock out if Traverse City is cancelled this year?
Anyone guess a roster for that if we were to send one
It hasn't been cancelled yet.
Quote:
The Detroit Red Wings are planning on holding their annual pre-training camp prospects tournament in Traverse City in September – for now.
But the tournament likely will be canceled later in the summer if the NHL and NHL Players Association do not reach a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Quote:
“We'll wait until August (to cancel the prospects tournament, if necessary),'' Nill said. “We still want it to go on. We've talked to the other seven teams. We're operating as usual, that we're going to have it.''
The tournament is scheduled to start Sept. 14 at Centre I.C.E. But it can't proceed without a new CBA.
Nill said the same teams that participated in 2011 are scheduled to return: Buffalo, Carolina, Columbus, Dallas, Minnesota, St. Louis and the New York Rangers.
