For the rest, I like this pick, it was my choice, I dont see a lot form him. I read more than I see and i remember than fro what I watch on tv, I like him but I dont think I could be interested to even think to use a top 20 pick to grab him. That said, another excellent pick for TT
IMO Jeff Skinner sounds pretty accurate, but I aint no expert.

- There is no shortage of reports on Collberg’s top hockey skill – his lightning quick release and explosive shot. His release and shot might indeed be the best in this draft, although Yakupov might have something to say about that.

- He is first and foremost, a goal-scorer. The Swedish sniper possesses high-end hockey instincts, able to create his own chances. Augmenting his pro-calibre shot is his speed and skating. Collberg is seemingly effortless out of the blocks and has very good top end speed. He is also quite agile on his skates.

- Sebastian is a calm and collected competitor. As well, Collberg has shown the ability to play at his best, the bigger the hockey stage.

- Like any goal-scoring winger, Collberg will benefit from playing with a playmaking centre.

http://thehockeywriters.com/sebastia...and-interview/

Also, check out this thread from last year comparing Forsberg and Collberg. Many Swedish posters who I assume follow the SEL have some great things to say about Sebastian, such as:

- Systemfel (a Swedish Mod) wrote:

"Collberg is a sick talent, his shot is already at the NHL elite level.

Kid's got an Ovechkin/Kovalchuk-like wrister. Lets it go like nobody's business. In full flight.

Collberg is the best Swedish pre-draft prospect since Bäckström."

- KRM wrote:

"Collberg is more the complete package. The kid is something extraordinary when it comes to Swedish players in recent years. Has an absolutely wicked wrister, good at finding the puck around the net, loves to deliver big hits, and isn't afraid to play dirty along the boards."

He has potential to be top quality first line wingers."

- IT wrote:

"Collberg is perhaps the player with the most exciting skills."

- charlamov71 wrote:

"Collberg is like the typical Russian sniper, skilled, quick feet and deadly wrist shots."

No wonder Timmins loves this kid.

Kristo was probably the best offensive prospect the Habs had before this draft,(Brendan Gallagher a tie)now both Galchenyuk and Collberg are the Habs best offensive forwards.Collberg IMO is a player like Patrick Elias of New Jersey Devils speedy, good passer and always finds the seam for a good shot.

Yeah. I mean size is important for sure, but people forget that Sidney Crosby is 5"11 and it hasn't stopped him from owning when he's healthy.

I doubt it happens but how awesome would it be for Collberg to make the club out of camp. O'Reilly did it a few years ago - its not impossible especially with our holes. It would be amazing if he just came over and dominated.

Might happen, but I don't know if he's big enough yet physically. He has the speed and the hockey sense to do it though.

I think there are three reasons Collberg doesn't get as much love as we think he should get:
1. The last year on his resume looks scary- 41 games, no goals, -8
2. His statistics- 5'10" 175lbs
3. No one has seen him- Sweden hockey not shown here

Needs to muscle up. I think he would get killed right now in NHL. Don't rush him just because we can use all the help we can find.

Figure I should post this here also ..

When Collberg was called up to play with the senior team in the SEL, guess who drove him to his first game? Timmins!!

How amazing is that?

Points shouldn't scare off anybody. Played in the toughest Swedish league. With around 6 minutes of icetime per game. And in most of them, was used in the 4th line and not even in a complete 4th line but a 4th line composed of 2 forwards so that means that he takes a shift here and there. Not the possibiliyt of creating a whole lot of chemistry there. And next year, he still will be the 3rd youngest player of this whole league. And out of the other 2, only 1 guy has played in the league last year with 12 games played though he is freakin young so we might want to check Elias Lindholm for the 2013 draft. And on top of all that, despite not producing, Frolunda found a way to dress him in 40ish games. A guy that doesn't score and is a total liability on a team like Frolunda does not dress up for 40ish games. So those stats are clearly not a problem. You will wish that he starts contributing though real early in the year which he should be able to do. 11 forwards under contract right now, so it's not like there's 14 or 15 they might see his contribution diminuish. But they will be expecting some offense.

But I have no issues with him staying in Sweden IF he's really going to be playing in their top 9 this year like a Swedish poster suggested.

Is it possible to see his ice time game-by-game for Frolunda?

I live in Halifax, and caught at least parts of dozens of Swedish league games this past season. Master your internets, young grasshopper.

Lol Obewonkanobe!
If I didn't have a job that requires me to work a zillion hours and a family that demands my presence, I would do better. Sigh!
For now, I will have to rely on you guys being my eyes.

Yes, you can.

http://hockeyligan.se/spelschema.html

First you press on the result ---> "Statistik" ---> "Frölunda" ---> "TOI"

Edit: You have to go in game for game, there isn't any overview page for all Collbergs games.

Well then, your problem isn't that Swedish hockey isn't shown here, it's that you have no time to watch/find it. Two completely different problems.

He looks so strong on the puck, his body language when playing is of a star NHL player already.

Plus, everybody and their dog saw Collberg dominate the WJC as a draft eligible prospect.

Hard to put up numbers when you only play 4 minutes a game on the 4th line of a men league checking line

From the videos Collberg looks impressive. How come he drops to the second round?

He didn't really drop THAT far. A lot of people had him in the 20s and he went early 30s. Perhaps we just got a little lucky.

It's true that lately he was expected to go anywhere from 20-25, but I remember at least one point during the course of the year he was possibly going as high as 12 in some rankings and mocks.
