Besides the home town connection , which may be more a negative than a positive, I like Colin's game. Of course , very very familiar with him and spent a lot of time around him as he grew up , practiced and developed.

I think Wpg would like his thickness and that he has a hunger similar to Kane regarding offense/scoring.

He is only 22 and was the 7th pick , I think some posts here forget that when assessing his value. While it may have gone down some I would not be adverse to a deal that featured Enstrom for him with some minor tweaks.

This would be a great move for Buffalo...the deal could be expanded to include a defenseman from Buffalo's end (an NHL ready prospect such as Brennan or current NHLer such as Leopold) and another player from Nashville. I would do it one for one if that's what Nashville agreed to. I think a Luke Adam for Colin Wilson swap could work also.

I'd do Schenn for Wilson.

I'd rather see Buff moved than Enstrom...

Byfuglien and Chicago's 2nd for Wilson and Hornqvist or a Dman (Ellis, Josi, Klein, Blum?)

Bump. Colin Wilson to the Leafs for Nazem Kadri.

2008 7th overall for 2009 7th overall.

Colin Wilson
ASSETS: Has good size, speed and solid playmaking ability. Plays well in clutch situations and is already a very mature performer. Is a strong north-south skater. Also has goal-scoring upside and can play both center and wing.

FLAWS: Must work on his consistency. Must also continue doing a good job of adjusting to the rigors of the pro game, and with the urgency that comes with it. Isn't overly physical, despite his solid frame.

CAREER POTENTIAL: Versatile scoring forward with good upside.

Nazem Kadri
ASSETS: Has great scoring instincts, hands and offensive flair to make spectacular plays. Also skates extremely well. His creativity is off the charts. Can line up at all three forward positions.

FLAWS: Is a little undersized for the highest level, so he must gain more strength in order to withstand the pounding of the NHL. Also needs to make the simple play more often (when required).

CAREER POTENTIAL: Skilled scoring forward with good upside.

Sounds like a lateral move.

Both players could use a change of scenery, plus I think Burke/Wilson hasn't given Kadri a chance to show what he can do. That might change with Carlyle but who knows. Kadri seems to be more of a winger and the Leafs need centre depth.

One promising player is in the doghouse, the other is on the fringe. I agree that a swap could accommodate both teams needs better but unless Nashville's scouts show a lot of faith in Kadri then Wilson should have a good bit more value at the moment. At the age of 20 Wilson put up 16 goals and 34 points in the NHL while Kadri was a sub PPG scorer in the AHL.

If Suter signs elsewhere. Winnipeg will throw defensemen and picks at you for Wilson.

And I literally mean throw them, we're not phoning for this one, the whole city of Winnipeg is investing in building a giant catapult for this trade.

cant see franson going back to nashville, we are stuck with komi (and we kinda need a bruiser now that schenns gone), liles just got locked up and will bridge the gap for rielly/blacker/percy, and odds are holzer will make the jump

as much as we all like gunner in toronto i could see him as the key piece in a trade...

steady 2way play, not physical but smart and a very reliable top 4 dman (our most consistant overall this past year)

something along the lines of gunner + ashton for wilson + 3rd rounder ??

Seems fair.

Nsh gets a real steady top 4 defenseman and a good power forward prospect.

Tor gets wilson who may need a change of scenery to blossom.

I know this is based on other teams and rivals dont trade often but what would it take from the Blues to aquire Wilson I think he would fit well in our system and I have been very high on him for awhile. Right not we have a surplus of picks, prospects, and NHL wingers is there anything we could offer that would make sense for both clubs?

I know you're joking but Leafs could probably use Wilson more than Reilly but Reilly is obviously the shiny new toy.

If Colin Wilson is a guy who gets in Trotz's doghouse for meh reasons then it'd be even worst with Kadri.

kadri would get eaten alive in nashville, Trotz would literally eat him alive for the way he plays.

How about:

To :

C. Wilson
D. Legwand

To :

D. Roy
X

The "X" being one of two:
  1. Luke Adam
if NSH wants a forwards for forwards trade

    or

  2. Jordan Leopold + TJ Brennan
if NSH sees a need to add D-men. Leopold could be a minute-eating stop gap for Suter, while Brennan is an NHL ready puckmover with Top-4 upside.

Nope. Not a chance.

Enstrom isn't going anywhere, especially not for minor pieces like Wilson.

I only deal Liles if we can sign Schultz. Even then, its tough because Liles was the reason we even had a powerplay.
