I would've been willing to part with Kulemin + for the 8th overall seeing how Forsberg and Grigorenko were both on board. But the draft is done with and there's nothing that makes sense involving Kulemin.
I have always thought Kule was a guy who would make a decent center, tho it is pretty late in the cam to try to move him over.
He is has been decent on faceoffs when the center was thrown out.
Yeah, I agree. Very solid two-way game and defensively, pretty good on faceoffs, good speed and very fast, big bodies, etc. Would fit well between Lupul and Kessel.

Trade MacArthur for forward prospect, or solid physical third line winger.
Kessel has played center before so if needed be he can be converted.
While true. when they first moved him over and they were trying to establish a sound top line they asked him if he would move to centre, given his past and he said no he wasn't comfortable playing centre with such strong competition.
I did however read today that Burke is going to give JVR a run at centre.

knew this would catch fire.
He said JVR has played some center and if Randy wants to try him there thats up to him but he's acquiring him with the mindset that he's a winger.
Unless TO wants to get rid of Kulemin for basically nothing, which it does not look like, I don't really see him as an enticing option for the Pens to take a chance on.
We are doing way better with LH LWs then we are doing on the right (last chance, Tyler Kennedy, seriously) and I was really looking for that supposed Malkin/Kulemin magic hard during Worlds and I only saw one of them having any magic. IDK, if it isn't Parise, I'd rather keep looking for a real RW or even give Sullivan one more year, if that's the only other option.
I was just gonna say that...why done we just offer sheet him...or trade for the rights.
There's not much I'm willing to give up for his rights. Maybe something like Jeffery+Lovejoy for rights to Kuleman.
Leafs has no incentive to do this trade, we already have enough "Jeffreys" and "Lovejoys" on the team, leafs is not going to trade Kulemin's RFA rights for players they don't need.

No, that wouldn't work. Perhaps we could get him for something around one of our extra D and a pick, as those are really our only expendable pieces now.
Burke said in an interview that he has bee qualified.
Oh, maybe post a link to that interview in the mentioned thread to keep the list up to date then. I even checked the last couple posts for any new devlopment that had not made the OP yet.
Because Kulemin is going to get you a number 1 center. I agree that's what you need... however even if you received a top 6 guy... where do they play? You have 5 top 6 wingers and 1 center. One of those wingers is going to be the odd man out, and I don't see it being Kessel, Lupul or JVR.
It's possible that he's included in a deal for Luongo... however Leafs would have to add a significant piece (prospect and likely a pick as well) as it wouldn't center around Kulemin.
With Harding signing a 3 yr extension, it's possible Backstrom is moved sometime this season... however he'll cost more than Kulemin is worth as well.
Don't get me wrong... I like him, and expect him to do a lot better than last year (assuming he gets top 6 icetime). However if he can't get top 6 icetime, then I don't see him doing much more than 10-15 goals. At which point moving him for another player/prospect isn't a bad thing.
It would be a horrible thing, we need him, he is big, plays soild defensively, he can score. He just a solid hockey player. I have no complaints with him, he can play top 6 or could be used in a checking role, which apparently Caryle will play his checking line a lot of minutes. He is way to valuable and things that were offered in the OP help the Leafs in no way, Leafs prefer Kulemin.
