They hype on next summers draft class is really high, from different contacts I have I always heard the same thing that how crazy the '13 class was going to be. I didn't pay much attention this years class but sounds like I will have to follow more closely next season. And before anyone says that this class was hyped the year previous year, keep in mind when you are talking about 16/17/18 year olds a lot can change in 12+ months, granted things might not go as well when we are 6 months into next season which is why opinions can change quickly.
If the Habs struggle again at least the thought of Gally + 4 picks in hopefully the top 50 next year should be huge for the club going forward.

Agreed, and I hope Bergevin won't mind selling. (vs Pierre Gauthier / Gainey asset management style)
Unless we trade down Drouin is our pick and a damn fine pick at that spot.
It's such a great draft year.To have 4 picks in hopefully the top50 would be amazing.
Not only is it is a great draft year overall, but there are gems coming out of the 'Q and they will not all be top10 players, because I don't expect us to finish there.
Mackinnon is #1 overall, it's a certainty, even a year from June 22nd 2013.
Drouin, Duclair, Carrier, Grégoire, Erne, DeLuca(not sure if he's eligible next year), Gauthier, Fucale.

And the good chunk of them are Quebeccers
Nothing is certain. Jones or Shinkaruk might be picked first, and I wouldn't be surprised.

That's a huge might. Between a D and a #1 center, I pick the #1 center. (Tavares vs Hedman, Stamkos vs Doughty, Staal/Toews/Backstrom vs Johnson)
And Mackinnon will make the jump straight to the NHL, barring any injury, Shinkaruk, not so sure.
Not to mention that Mackinnon completly carried the moose with Drouin and Fucale in the playoffs.
Shinkaruk had average playoffs, after a terrific year.
And he's one of the oldest guy in the draft, being a late birthday, Mackinnon is one of the youngest.
Mackinnon will destroy the 'Q next year.
Another important point to add with Shinkaruk is that he had a prolific scorer with him in Etem.
Were his stats inflated by him? It will be interesting to see how he fares without Etem next year.
Oh and one last point, Mackinnon is bigger physically(in weight) than Shinkaruk and plays more of a power game.
I thought the ''entry'' was removed from the NHL draft title?
And for a few pages earlier, I do not want Duclair neither. I watched alot of Remparts game because of Grigorenko and everytime there was hockey IQ missing for Duclair. Countless times he just tried to go wide and ended up dead in the corner. There was some nice flashes but from what I saw, and this is a personal feeling, he'll be a frustrating 3rd liner in the NHL because you just feel he has the tools to be a top forwards but lack consistency. Anyway, it's a bit earlier since the guy played his 16th yo season. Lot of time to improve i guess.

In all do respect, I believe you build from the back end out, thus the big stud D-man would be the obvious choice.
What a great draft for us. I couldn't believe we got the players we did when I saw the picks. I was hoping we grabbed Slepshev late but whatever.
Other than our first pick it was decent I would have prefered GR who went to the Isles they are going to have an amazing top 4 on the back end in the next couple years damn those Islanders.
I am hoping we can pull some stunners and turn some heads with what appears to be a pretty deep draft next year.

So pumped for this draft. Even if we make the playoffs and pick 15th it seems like we'll have a shot at a monster talent that in other years would be top 5-8 worthy. I love MacKinnon/Jones/Monahan/Shinkaruk/Barkov/Ristolainen/Lazar/Erne/Fucale/Drouin/Lindholm/Domi/Rychel/Pulock/de la Rose/Horvat. Nichushkin will also be one to watch if he can avoid the Russian factor questions. That's 17 guys already. Count Duclair (WTK's Murray for 2013) and it's 18.
Factor in THREE 2nd rounders, potentially 3 of them in the top 15-20 of round 2 as Calgary should continue to be a mediocre team and Nashville could very well be a bubble team if Suter leaves.
Factor in Timmins focusing ONLY on the draft the entire season.
Factor in a beefed up scouting staff with Kinsella and another Q scout added.
Factor in Bergevin who seems really passionate about the draft process and seems to really value talented players.
Could be epic for us.

It was so nice to have 2nd rd picks this year. Next year with 3 it will be even more exciting. Depending on free agency and how well we play next season we could have some more 2nd's or 3rds if guys like Weber etc become expendable.
