Short Doan interview discussing handshake line

Didn't see this posted. Nothing much said, but he doen't think he needs to apologise. Perhaps the incident was overstated.

Mitchell and Carter said it best.

Handshake line is not the best time to do the chirping; then again, within a couple of minutes of a devastating hit by Brown, the game is over...so emotions were sky high.

All in all, this happened a month ago now...don't care, the Kings got the Cup.

Next season's games with the Coyotes ought to be real fun, though.

Can anyone briefly summarize Carter, Penner, and Brown's comments about what was said to them in the handshake line? I'm at work and can't watch the videos.

I still love how Vermette and some of these guys were rehashing crap from games earlier. No wonder they lost the series. What an entitled, self pity-fueled team.

Carter and Mitchell basically said they were surprised with what was said during the handshake line, Carter said it best when he said that it was probably not the best place to be talking about it, just say good luck and move on.

Mitchell was kind of giving them a pass, talking about the emotion of the moment.

The Dustin Brown link was a bait-and-switch, leading me into the dark entrails of the Internet and finally bringing up a web page that wouldn't let me move. I hate that.

The Coyotes/Kings games are going to be a lot more interesting next season.

Next seasons games are going to be very fun indeed! A mean spirited rivaly in the making with bad blood from both sides want a piece of each other. I would be surprised if there isn't 1 bench clearing brawl in the 1st meeting. Then again, if Doan does sign with the Kings, not much may happen.

Don't forget that Rosival had to retire because of the "blown out" knee injury.

If you guys just watch the video of the handshake line, it's fairly obvious that it is Doan who engages in the heated conversation and he's not saying "not now" to Brown. I can't wait to see Brown destroy the Coyotes next season. Better yet, I want to see someone knock Hanzal's block off (he's the real piece of s#!t on that Coyotes team).

I'm more interested in what was said between Brown and Hanzal, that conversation looked more intense than Brown/Doan. In the end all players chirp and talk smack and none of these three are saints, Doan's a dirty whiner, Brown's a diving A-hole, and Hanzal's a careless dolt. Yet i'd love all three on the Kings next year.

Hanzal told Brown that he should have protected himself better on the hit in Game 2. If you don't believe me just listen to the Mayor's Podcast interview with Brown.

Brown's comments on Hanzel.

In this video, Doan is doing all the talking. Nice try, Shane.

Yeah. Typically you don't request "space" when you're in a handshake line where the sole purpose is to congratulate the other team on a job well done.

I still like Doan though.

I don't think it was overstated. Based on some of the things the players were saying, it sounded like it wasn't just the Doan and Brown shake... sounded like a lot of them were chirping. That and the way they mobbed the refs after the game (See Smith stick-throwing) and the replay that shows Doan's not just saying "not now" and means he's not owning up to what really happened makes the whole thing deserve all the negative attention it got.

But it's over now and we got the Cup so it's not as big of a deal any more... though still big enough that I'm looking forward to games against them next season. lol

^ Vermette looked like he was *****ing to Penner and I believe Penner commented on it. I think it was when he grabbed him from behind and body slammed him to the ice during that same game I believe.

I hope Doan shakes the team's hands again in training camp, when he becomes a king.
