Luongo? Seriously?

Have you all gone insane? I leave for a couple of months and you all lose your minds. Unbelievable.

Backstrom/Halak/Niemi/Kipper are all better options than Luongo.

Like Wilson a lot, but wouldn't pay a hefty price for him as he won't fill a top line need.

Backstrom- I'd be interested. Not sure if Wild will move him

Halak- Blues won't move him. Why would they?

Niemi- **** no

Kipper- Id be interested for sure, but I can't see the Flames moving him. They refuse to rebuild.

The Canuck board is proposing getting Patrick Kane for Luongo straight up.

You can't make something that stupid up.

Keith and Toews are in some of their other proposals. They are even penciling them in.

Blues and Preds seem to be the teams being discussed.

The players posters have speculated are:

Blues
-Patrick Berglund C
-Chris Stewart RW
-Jaroslav Halak G
-Brian Elliot G
-Andy McDonald C/LW
-TJ Oshie RW/C

Predators
-Colin Wilson C
-Ryan Suter D
-Craig Smith C

Whatever it (reasonably) takes to get this line up, I would be very happy with.

Lupul - Stastny - Kessel
JVR - Grabovski - Stewart
Kulemin - Bozak - Frattin
Brown - Steckel - Armstrong

Gunnarsson - Phaneuf
Gardiner - Holzer
Liles - Komisarek

Luongo
Reimer

I could see the Blues definitely moving Halak, but it all depends on how much faith they have in Elliott. Coming off a .940 SV% season has gotta make them think of possibly moving Halak to upgrade the rest of the team.

I'm wondering what people think about "LACK" and realistic destinations or where they will end up (Leafs line-up included)....

Colby Armstrong traded to Colorado for minor league d-man Joel Chouinard.

Matt Lomardi and Jamie Devane to Anaheim for forward Riley Holzapfel.

Tim Connolly, Andrew Creszenszi and a late pick (5th+) to Nashville for Taylor Beck and a 6th round pick.

Komisarek actually stays.

First 2 deals are for minor league guys that replace Gysbers/Mikus going over to Europe, as well as the potential that Zigomanis leaves to try and get a 4th line spot elsewhere. Taylor Beck is a guy that I personally like and just adds to the forward compliment in the organization. I could also see the Leafs trying to fill the defensive void if Holzer makes the Buds and the 2 others head off to Europe.

Thoughts on where everyone goes?

I think Burke would be smart to do this before free agency.

Lots of strength on the boards, something the Leafs need to improve big time.

Just thinking out loud for now:
In: Statsny, Stewart, Luongo
Out: MacArthur, Franson, Connolly, Lombardi
Assets Possibly Used: Kadri, Colborne, Percy, Blacker, D'Amigo, McKegg, picks, etc.

I guess it is possible if it doesn't take much for Luongo, picks I think would have to be involved for sure. The teams we are trading with likely wouldn't have their needs filled though. We don't have enough roster players to do trades that are not consisted of almost entirely prospects. This wouldn't go well on HF, the main reason I think why trades never go well on HF is pretty much everyone only wants to trade their player if they get an upgrade. We can't offer these teams an upgrade, I'm not sure if we even fill a need for them.

I've been suggesting connolly for bickell and montador

Bickell would add a lot of size and grit to the bottom six and only costs 500k

Montador is a solid vet who can play 6/7 dman

Burke has said he doesnt like the asking price..

On Luongo.Get used to it,I have lived in Vancouver for many years and if you think Leaf fans are in la la land, wait till you hear what they think Luongo is worth. They have no idea how big a problem they will have soon.

Luckily there will be no Luongo...period.

Not even Justin Schultz?

If we trade one of Connolly or Bozak I wouldn't mind picking up Jason Arnott. Kulie-Arnott-Frattin could be a great 3rd line.

It would take a big overpayment IMO. I dont really see a reason for them to mess up a good situation. If they could bring back a true number 1 d-man in the deal than maybe, but otherwise I dont see a point. They don't have many holes to fill.

Yea I know ... I was happy to see a trade. Then I read what it was and I already knew it was bs... As soon as I saw 2/4 LACK members in it not to mention the other 2 that trailed
