Our WHL scout Ryan Jankowski deserves some credit for this pick too I would imagine - Bozon said at the combine that Jankowski had shown tons of interest in him the whole season.
My guess the main reason why he fell is because it's hard for old school GM's and scouts to think France can produce a quality NHL forward.
This guy was already part of the hockey family.(Kids of NHLers are not exactly unknown) I would be surprised if the fact that he was French was a problem at all.
Again, it's because of that LA Kings size syndrome. To think this kid went 64th with 36 goals in his first season in North America is crazy. He had 11 more goals than Mitch Moroz had points. And it's not like he's a midget, he's 6'0 and works hard.

His father is french, but he spent most of his time in Switzerland after his NHL career (playing and coaching). Tim already played for U18 France national team although we can't say he is a product of french hockey.
In the eyes of NHL GMs or scouts, he is considered as a swiss prospect. And Switzerland proved they can produce NHL-level players, so I don't think this is what made him fall in the Draft.
IMHO many teams rushed to pick D's in the early rounds and they thought players like Tim would still be available later. It's almost like the Habs went upstream in this Draft.

Never understood that concept. LA won because of their crazy depth and Quick, not because of size. Looking at their top-6, their most physical players actually aren't that tall. Richards and Brown are the most physical scoring forwards and they're 5'11" and 6'0" respectively. Its a lot easier to find guys like Greene, Stoll and King through Trades and Free Agency than it is to find guys like Kopitar, Doughty and Quick.
Lol came here to post that. He looks pretty big. Not oversized, but doesnt look like he will get pushed around easily. + Timmins said they both agreed he needed to put some weight on. Could end up being a Max Pacioretty type of player. Not all big hits, but smart hockey with size

It is nice to have some 2nd rounders for once. The past management were trading away too much youth and picks and it is why the Habs depth got weakened so fast. If we can get 2-3 NHLers from this draft and another 2-3 next year with all the picks Habs could be contenders in 3-5 years.

Those are kids picked high based on their names though. It's not like Tim's Dad was a great player, he spent most of his career in Europe. Tim really has nothing to try to live up to.

if it was is first time playing such a heavy schedule with the traveling of the WHL, i would expect a slower second half, but talent is talent and he should overcome schedule and traveling....
