Toronto-Nashville

Franson
Frattin/2nd
4th

For

Colin Wilson

Why: leafs add another big F who could potentially be toronto 1C or could alternate between 1C and 3C with bozak depending on who is playing better, chemistry, etc… also is on the outs in nashville and could desperately use a change of scenery. For nsh it looks like they are about to lose suter so they add franson to help replace suter's minutes and someone who is familiar with their system plus a winger in frattin who I feel could thrive in nsh under their type of system, but I know a few leaf fans are very high on frattin so maybe replace him with a 2nd and a 4th.

Thoughts?

Winnipeg doesn't have Colin Wilson, Nashville does.

Plus I'm not so sure they want to reacquire Franson.

What I can tell you is that IF Winnipeg had Colin Wilson, we'd say no to that deal.

Haaa....Nashville would rather hold onto Wilson and also not take Franson back.

Speculation was* that it was Wilson for Schenn or JVR for Schenn and Burke decided he wanted JVR more.

Really? I believe you, but is there a link? I know Poile and Burke were talking, but was it Wilson?

It is speculation that is what Poile and Burke were talking about, not a rumour my mistake. I'll edit my post.

Frattin is pretty untouchable, unless the return is really good.

^Agreed. He is worth way more than a 2nd. Winnipeg stole Wilson from Nashville now? Don't think Trotz would care though.

No way from Nashville. Only way Wilson moves is as part of a package to get a Ryan caliber player. Not a prospect who has proven less than Wilson has.

Matt Frattin has shown wonderful potential in his brief pro career to date. In the NHL this year, while not putting up points, he was very involved physically and defensively.

In the AHL playoffs he put the team on his back and practically carried the Marlies to the Calder Cup finals. Not only is he great defensively and physically, he has good offensive instincts as well as evident by his work in the playoffs.

Keep rubbing your eyes or read about/watch the players you comment on before making ignorant comments.

So... because he played well in the AHL playoffs he's suddenly next to untouchable?

Michal Neuvirth led his team to 2 straight Calder Cups and has played solid at the NHL level. I guess that means he's worth Kessel ++, right?

No, I'll continue to rub my eyes, thanks.

He actually played well all year in the NHL as well but just had a tough go offensively.

Good stuff, continue to be uninformed. You're only making yourself look foolish.

As what? A 4th Liner?

And you wouldn't trade him for a young top 6 center with much more room to grow?

And I definitely am not making myself foolish... or you would have disputed the point I made, instead of just saying i look foolish.

Who is the young top six center you're talking about?

Wilson will only be traded if he is part of a package for an upgrade. We have no interest in getting less pieces for him.

It would be an upgrade on your current top six centers.

He was also a recent top 10 draft pick, and as a power forward, takes much longer to develop than most forwards.
