Also if Ryan gets traded, I feel it will be right before free agency begins or after the big boys sign where they sign. I fear this week will be slow for any Flyers news.
The draft just ended. So I am going to say, no they have not met yet.

He's probably going to have to wait till Ryan is back in California last time I heard he was away for the summer.

Yea he trains in Idaho I believe. I think they will have to meet sooner then that to clear the air. It should be this week leading up to free agency. They need to know where each stand and how to go from there. By the sounds of the interviews though, Ryan does not sound too happy with all this. Ducks fans of course are in denial about it, but I would be to if I was in their position.

Dominic Moore's wife has a rare form of cancer so I don't even know if he's playing this season. I think he left before the season ended because of her diagnosis...found a link:

I thought it was curious this morning that bill meltzer said the following

Quote:
Of course, a trade this week for Bobby Ryan would change the outlook. It does not appear that any among impending UFAs Zach Parise, Ryan Suter or rookie free agent Justin Schultz will be coming to Philadelphia even if the Flyers had the cap space to do so.
And

Quote:
COMING TOMORROW (barring any major news today): An in-depth look at the Flyers' 2nd to 7th round draft picks.
Bill always strikes me as the conservative and safe type of guy who will always rationalize against a big move like this. He's usually the type to post an article about why the flyers shouldn't/wont make a move for a big name guy.

OBVIOUSLY I'm reaching here, but could Bill have some knowledge that we are indeed trying to get a trade done for ryan? It almost seems like he's expecting it, if you've ever read any of bills articles regarding potential trades before.

I think it is pretty clear that the two teams are trying to work something out. Where there's smoke there's fire. That doesn't mean something WILL get done, but it has been well reported that the Flyers have attempted to get him for the past couple years at the draft and Ryan has requested a trade (preferably to PHI ) and Homer has made a lot of vague statements about "improving" the team. Based on the circumstantial evidence, I'd put money on the fact they're working on something. Again, I don't know if anything will materialize, but it sounds like something is cooking.

I suspect that the Flyers have tried, unsuccessfully, to acquire Bobby Ryan numerous times. This year, I expect, will be no different. I would be surprised if Anahiem would accept Voracek + for him and I would be even more surprised if the Flyers would up the offer to include Couturier or Schenn.

I suspect that Ryan gets traded within the next year, but it's not to Philadelphia. More likely the Rangers, Buffalo, etc.

Not sure where you went to law school but evidence that requires inferences to be drawn (i.e. past dealings and vague assertions) is circumstantial evidence.

EDIT: From Am. Jur. Evidence:

Quote:
TERM: circumstantial evidence.

TEXT: Facts and circumstances surrounding a transaction from which the jury or trier of the fact may infer other connected facts which reasonably follow, according to the common experience of mankind.

AUTHORITY: 29 Am J2d Ev § 264.
Quote:
TERM: direct evidence.

TEXT: Proof which speaks directly to the issue, requiring no support by other evidence; proof in testimony out of the witness' own knowledge, as distinguished from evidence of circumstances from which inferences must be drawn if it is to have probative effect.

AUTHORITY: 29 Am J2d Ev § 264.
...outlawyer'd

As an actual lawyer, everything so far we know about the Bobby Ryan deal is indeed circumstantial evidence. Past interest, Ryan's comments and Homer's vagueness are all circumstantial, as they are not direct evidence of a trade currently being in the works.

Since you will be living in Malibu, I don't see how you wouldn't have fun regardless of what you will be doing. Haha.

I will be commuting from Mar Vista, but I am two miles from Venice and four miles from Santa Monica. Not too shabby. Pepperdine is gorgeous, but the Churches of Christ-related rules for campus don't align with my style.
