Highly doubtful we build a contender by signing 2 UFA's even if they are Parise and Suter. We need a lot more depth for that to happen, depth you rightly pointed out, we don't have.

It's funny you say that. I think they were our ONLY good line last year. Any line where your 2 wingers gets 30+ goals and your centre leads your team in points is a 1st line in my book. Whether they can maintain it is another question.

Should we sign Latendresse if he becomes a Free agent?

News out of Minnesota is that Latendresse will not be resigned. Would you guys be willing to take him back with a low salary contract?

We need a big dman on a contract with not too much term. More or less in order of preference:

Bryan Allen
Brad Stuart
Corey Sarich
Scott Hannan
Radek Martinek
Mark Eaton
Filip Kuba
Randy Jones
Shane O'Brien
Steve Staios
Matt Carkner
Adrian Aucoin
Aaron Rome

No, we need a top line winger for Plekanec who would bump either Bourque or Gionta to the 3rd line.

I like Latendresse tho'. Nothing against him, but we just gotta think big.

About Habs:

David Pagnotta ‏@TheFourthPeriod
They've had some trade talks over the last week, but priority is re-signing Price, Subban & Moen.

I'd rather have Michal Roszival than every d-man on that list except for Kuba, and maybe Allen.

Stuart signed already so he's off my list.

That's my question also! I fully agree that they were amazing last year. There's absolutely no doubt in my mind. I hope they can maintain what they did last year, but I still believe that we a solid 1st line. I don't think this is the kind of first line that will lead us far in the playoffs.

At worst. We really need a top pairing guy to play with Subban. That would bump Gorges on the second pairing with Markov and that's perfect.

Then, there are spots for the youngsters once Markov and Kaberle are gone.

Only for one year. If he wants more after that he has to earn it.

For 2M or less, sure.

He's a good enough player, but he's been injured a lot over the past two years. He'd be a clear improvement over last season's third line wingers. To think that some see White on the 3rd line

Lats in a third line role for 3rd line money, one year. If things go well he can move himself up the chart and earn an extension.

I'd make a pitch for Justin Schultz. I know he is not a heavy Dman, but he has all the makings to be a top 4 Dman and of course, he is YOUNG!

I think I'd rather have Jagr, but Latendresse could work.

I think it's been reported that Bergevin will make him an offer.
