What can we expect from Lars Eller this year ?

GP G A PTS +/- PPG PPA SHG SHA GWG PIM Shots PCT Hits
Year to date 79 16 12 28 -5 2 1 2 1 2 66 129 12.40 72

I'm really hoping that he hits 20g/40a this year. With all the changes going on, he needs to step up to the plate and compete with DD and Plek for a top 2 center position (not saying he should take their spots, just have the drive to produce at that level)

Hopefully he can show that that 4 goal game was not a fluke.

Depends on his role really. ~50 points should be the target but he he's playing with 4th liners who knows.

Edit: Crap, I meant 40.

50g 20a all-star nomination and Lester award.

Are you guys for real? These are 2nd line centre numbers. I think he's fine at 3C. Improve aggressiveness and defensive game. Be the go to penalty killer. There.

If we follow Ellers natural progression, I think we are looking at a 20/20 year from him. If he can average between 40-60 points a season while being a shut-down third line center, I am happy.

He got barely any PP time last season. If he gets more this year, he will definitely see an increase in production. Lets hope he can be our Jordan Staal. The defensive stalwart who chips in offence and takes pressure off our top two centers. I don't think thats an unrealistic expectation.

I hope he play 15-16 minutes a game with quality teammates that are at least 3rd liners, also if they give him around 1 minute a game on the PP during the season he could manage 20 goals and 40 + pts IMO.

If he can put up 17 goals playing with 3rd-4th liners, he may be able to put up 30 goals playing with 1st or 2nd liners.

Probably 40-50 points this year playing with Plekanec and Gionta.

I hope to see something like 20G 25 assists

That would be a very grood progression

I just hope he gets better at faceoffs. At least 50%

Not much more than last season is the correct answer. As far as expectations go.

I'd like to see him with Moen and Leblanc on the 3rd line. If that happens, I can see him scores 15 goals - 20 assists which isn't bad for a third line centre.

Why are your expectations for him so low?

He doesnt get powerplay ice time so I think 50 points is out of reach. Perhaps something like 15-20 goals + 20-25 assists. In between 35 and 45 points is very realistic.

Great player.

It's better to be surprised than disappointed in this case. I don't see him being more than the regular 3rd line center next season. If Gally is ready that means 4th line center or wing, so keep the expectations low.

40 points would be great. I'm not sure he'll end up scoring any more goals than last season though.

Depends on what line he plays and who line-mates are:

Much better if line 2. Not so great on checking line 3.

If Eller is our 2nd line centerman, we are probably in the lottery again next year.

I think 50 points is a stretch given our lack of top 6 wingers. Also factor in that DD is ahead of him offensively and he's probably destined to be a high end 3rd line centre.

What centre in the NHL would you fanboys compare him to in terms of development? I don't see how he is projected to get to 60 points when he hasn't consistently produced points at any level.

If Bergevin and CO don't add a legit top 6 winger and let Bourque play with Pleks we will for sure be in thr lottery. As for Eller , if he sees almost no PP time like last year, he will probably have same sorta stats . Anywhere from15-20 goals and between 35-40 Pts. I hope they dont move him to Wing. He looks lost there

29 points in 48 games (4th on the team) as a 19 year old in the SEL????

57 points in 70 games (1st on the team) for the Peoria Rivermen as a 20 year old in the AHL? In his first season of professional hockey in North America

What the hell are you talking about he hasn't consistently produced points at any level?

Or does the fact that he only produced in those 2 leagues for the 1 season he was there mean he wasn't "consistently" producing points at those levels?

I think he's a 30 pt guy, that should be replaced by someone with a pair of balls and fists of rage.

Lars Eller doesn't have balls?

Why? Because he doesn't fight?

Good lord.

Put the kid on DD's pivot and you got yourself another 60 point kid.

The kid has every tool to succeed. People who bash him only mention stats, never his commitment, talent and drive. THE KID IS GOLD.

Eller is what SJ hopes Hertl will be.

Don't forget that you cannot put up points if you don't play.

Ahh one of those types eh?

Thanks for the warning man!

Although I'm still looking forward to his laughable response to my question, if there is a response at all.
