Leafs Free Agent Targets?

With free agency fast approaching which players do you realistically think the Leafs will take a run at (other than Schultz of course)?

Parise, doubt we get him though.

Isn't Parros a UFA? I thought I heard that somewhere.

I hope if a deal can't be reached by trade we pick up a goalie. Hedberg/Ellis would be fine.

Penner would be perfect but I think he's going to be overpaid for his recent success.

Without a doubt, Burkie will kick the tires on the Parise/Suter front. Realistically, I can see Burke adding a couple forwards to solidify the bottom six, and maybe one veteran blueliner. If he chooses to deal with our two most pressing issues (#1C, Goalie), I feel it'll be dealt with through a trade. Here are some players I can see us signing:

C Paul Gaustad
LW Travis Moen
RW David Moss
C Adam Burish
LW Daniel Winnik
RW Brandon Prust

D Greg Zanon

If Burke signs anyone for the bottom six, I hope it's Prust.

Go big or go home. We don't have any room for overpaid depth players unless we shed some salary.

That said, Prust makes me lick my chops. Watching a fair bit of Rangers games this year, he was phenomenal on the pk, and does everything Burke wants out of a player. Very versatile. He's the only depth player I think we should look into.

I second this. Add Schultz and maybe Bryan Allen.

We're not getting Parise or Suter, so hopefully no one.

Why isn't Kadri playing centre anymore?

Moen should be Burke's plan A.

Would be perfect as a bottom 6 upgrade. Has a history with Burke too.

I wonder if Burke will subconsciously sign both Winnik and Prust to get Don Cherry off his back?

Kadri is as good as a bust. I don't even think the Leafs project him as a long-term player anymore. He is a top 6 player or nothing at all, and right now with the current team depth he's nothing at all.

I am tired of Burke overpaying for bottom 6 forwards and #5 and 6 d men through free agency.

Fwiw, don't see Schultz coming here. If he was smart he would go to Edmonton.

Could jump into the top 4 D almost immediately, they would be willing to pay him, and he'd get to play with a pretty solid core of forwards.

Prust is asking for just over $2 million a season.

No thanks at that price.
