We all know that Eric Fehr ain't getting one, but who else will be let go? I say Festerling, Forney and Pettersson will be outside looking in by the end of the day.
I wouldn't be surprised if Maxwell isn't qualified. He can play in the NHL, but I'm not sure there's space for him on the Jets.
Looking at other teams, there are a few surprises - Latendresse and Johnson from the Wild and Brule from the Coyotes. Ex-Jet Angelo Esposito also wasn't qualified.

These two suprised me.
I know they had struggled to live up to their expectation (brule) had been hit or miss season to season in their teams top 6(latendress) but I certainly didn't think they were "fringe" players.
Kane, Pavelec, Machacek and Postma are pretty much guaranteed.
I'm on the fence about Arturs Kulda. I know many are fond of him and think he can eventually be a contributor, but I'm not so sure. Really don't view his upside as anything more than an easily replaced 6th/7th defenseman. I certainly won't be aghast if he's allowed to become a UFA.

As for the rest, I don't see them getting offers.
I really like how Kulda played during his call-up and I'd like to see him get a chance to bring some grit to the bottom pairing. However, I don't think there's room for him next year and unless he can elevate his game or the Jets take a step backwards (i.e. Enstrom & Hainsey leave) there likely won't be room him after next year either with the more well-rounded defensive prospects graduating the system. Given how they unnecessarily exposed him to waivers last year it's possible that he asked for an opportunity to see if other teams would take him and if the Jets were willing to do so then, I can't see them holding on to him now.
Blake Comeau and Benoit Pouliot are two more players that weren't qualified. Speculation is that both teams are trying to negotiate cheaper deals them, but if they aren't signed then they become UFAs.

I was rather disappointed with Maxwell this season. He turned over the puck frequently and was rather soft.Maybe I expected too much?
Kulda if I can recall in an article by Brendan McCarthy(IceCaps beat writer) that Kulda was working on a contract with the Jets.
Negrin Id'say will be gone.As well as Forney,Pettersson.
Kane and Pavlec..... for sure as that just allows us to keep negoatiating a longer term deal
Macechek Postma, Kuldra, Festerling for sure as they can all be offered 2 way contracts and if they dont make the cut at this years train camp they will be great depth for injured call ups and huge In St Johns for a successfull AHL club (very important to TNSE). These 4 all have to clear waivers to be sent down to the AHL. I see Postma ,Macerchek and possible Kuldra making the team this year.
Negri maybe i dont know much about him except he had some injury issues with Calgary before being traded to the Rock
Fehr- Not offered a Q as matching last year 2+ mill sal not even an option
Macinaur ,Forney and Pettersom i say Goodbye

You don't build a winner from the table scraps of other teams.
True. But the Jets aren't going to be a winner in the near future. You need NHL players to contribute and make your team competitive. Some of these guys can pick up the slack.
Other things to consider:
- The reason some guys don't get qualified is because their QA is too high, so the teams will let them become UFA's and negotiate something lower. That is an opportunity to get a good player.
- Some players just don't pan out in certain cities. Locale, coach, teammates, etc. You can take a reasonable chance on someone and who knows. Can you imagine how tough the first half of last year would have been on us without Wellwood?

I'd be happy with just them signed, or trade Kane and Pavelec's rights, but I want Kulda on our team next year, hes actually so sick
Fehr, Michael Forney and John Negrin were not offered qualifying contracts as restricted free agents this afternoon.
Cheveldayoff also extended qualifying offers to restricted free agents Evander Kane, Ondrej Pavelec, Spencer Machacek, Arturs Kulda, Paul Postma, Ben Maxwell, Brett Festerling and Kenndal McArdle.
I'm surprised that the Jets appear to have given a qualifying offer to Petterssen, who didn't play very well for the AHL Wolves in '10-11.
He had been on a two-year contract when the Jets released him from his second year last summer so that he could play in the Swedish elite league. Some reports say he's already signed to play in the KHL next year.
