Yeah that's really cool. Just shows you how Bolland gets the short end of the stick. Plays with Q's doghouse for linemates, gets some of the toughest competition minutes in the league, and still puts up respetable numbers.
Hopefully people see this and quit giving Bolland such crap. The guy goes out against the toughest live of the other team and his 1 goal is to shut-down their superstar, yet people give him crap for not scoring enough, yet amazingly despite this being his job and weak line-mates he still gets 15+ goals every year. His stats don't begin to tell his value to this team.
That's awesome. What I really like is how all of that data really conforms to what you see on the ice in terms of effectiveness. Basically Bolland is a workhorse and the only thing salvaging our bottom six. Brunette is absolute garbage. Frolik and Bickell get crapped on too much and it agrees with my belief that Bollig has no business on NHL ice.
wouldn't mind this either if we end up shipping hammer out. ott would be nicer, but i feel like this year beach might actually put up a fight to stick around with the big club. dont know who or what we'd get back for stalberg though.
Bowman gets **** on a lot, but I like the way he seems to be running the team, building from the inside out in a more sustainable model. in my mind thats why the hawks aren't making tons of moves every year and thus far have just attained stop-gaps for the most part. As frustrating as it seems now that were not getting the ribero's or the visnovsky's, it will lead to more long-term success.
That "Bolland" thread made in January (too lazy to search for it) made me question exactly what some of you were watching 82 nights out of the year. It seemed like people really expected Bolland to put up 50-60 points a year despite his ES role and his invisible PP time.
Now that J. Staal is officially a 2C, in think it's safe to say that Bolland is the best 3C in the league, if not top 3.
