A friend's kids play.

Or you would be surprised at the crap you will attend with your gurlfriend to keep her happy and in turn get something back from her. Hell, I remember taking my GF to see twilight. By the end of the movie, I knew three things. The dude was a vampire. The chick loved him. And I was so getting laid that night. She might call out his name during, but I did not care.

Or he just likes plays. Which is fine too.

I like that he wants to improve offensively. I have a feeling DB is gonna get that out of him.

Some plays are a bit free-form. In other words, there are three or four different stages with action from the same story going simultaneously. It is up to each audience member to decide which stage to watch and when. In such a format, there is usually a corner where one could find enough privacy for a phone call (although another audience member might feel entitled to watch -- thinking it is part of the play).

I agree. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bylsma throw him a bone and give him a few double shifts on the wing either. I just think his speed makes him more wing capable than Staal was and no I'm not saying he's going to be Sid's winger or anything. Just could be a way for the coach to reward the kid here and there for busting his ass on D.

I was one Canes fan that thought Sutter would be a better winger than Center.

if that belief comes to fruition offensively for the Pens, they'll have themselves an interesting winger. what if Sutter somehow evolves into an effective winger for the Pens? maybe Kunitz's replacement?

Have to be very difficult to completely remove Sutter's defense from the middle. Defense wins you games, especially in the playoffs. I just think we can shakeup the lines (Lord knows Bylsma loves to) and Sutter can play wing from time to time. We'll see.

Which is why (I think) he was never tried there in Carolina even though a winger for Eric Staal was always a need. He was too important in his role as a defensive, 3rd line center.

#Pens Sutter: Talked to Bylsma, Shero and Crosby already -SK
As long as he was taking calls from Shero, I have no issue at all with him taking his time talking to the media, could have taken another week for all I care. That's what I really hoped it was too. I like him, he will do well.

And Crosby is such a captain. I will smite the next person to go on and on about his whining. He handles all of this so well.

As I've said, you guys are going to like Sutter. I don't know a single Canes fan who I meet (either on this board or in person) who doesn't love the guy. High character, high class guy who does things right. Trust me, it was not easy for Rutherford to give him up in this trade.

Honestly though, wasn't Sutter brought to the Penguins to be the 3C? I don't see him becoming a winger or getting much offensive ice time. He is amazing defensively, but was never really given an offensive shot in Carolina (I always wished they would give him more PP time). Anyway, if the pens do pick up a winger for Crosby (such as Parise), then when would would Brandon get any good offensive playing time?

(Sorry, I'm a Canes fan and I am still irritated about this trade. I wish I could personally give Staal back and get Sutter back on the canes) You guys are really going to see what a great player Sutter is. He has been my favorite player for 2 years now and I'm so sad to see him go.

Anyway, honestly I can't really see him staying in Pittsburgh for more than 2-3 years if he wants more offensive playing time. Crosby and Malkin are light years beyond Sutter when it comes to offensive talent. Of course he will need time to grow into the offensive role, but I honestly don't see him getting much of an opportunity in Pittsburgh. I'm totally not trying to bash on Pittsburgh here either for not giving him a chance, I just don't see it really happening.

That lack of almost any sort of negativity with the kid is what stands out to me. Seems everyone from fans to coaches, management etc. all loved the guy.

He did. LOL! PensInsideScoop makes typos (or hears wrong) more often than not.

RT @pensinsidescoop Sutter: I was at a friends place & Ron Francis called (about trade). He thanked me for everything. Caught me by surprise

With Sutter being right-handed I could definitely see a 1A and 1B powerplay unit with Crosby and Malkin, and Sutter being on one of them. He's definitely has some skill and a good shot that'll look nice on the left board.

hopefully you and every other Canes fan treats Staal the same way (although i'm almost 100% positive you will). i think the Pens fans who actually had a gripe with him early on are the ones who are disappointed that he's not as offensively gifted as Eric. that feeling of disdain for Staal stuck with those particular fans although, IMO, it wasn't warranted at all.
